CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.

The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

I pulled in my granddaughters driveway and the car just stopped suddenly while I was steal driving, for no reason. I automatically put the car in park and tried to start it again because I was not fully in the drive way. Two hours later I had the car towed to my house because Mcfadden Friendly Motors in South Haven was not open. The service brake light will not go off, check engine light is on and the tires are locked. What the !!!! is that?

Bought this car in February from a trusted dealership, wasn't my choice but was upside down in a Jeep Wrangler. Had been dealership loaner but was Certified and already had 10,800 miles on it, a little concerning but has all the warranties etc. No issue till this morning, backed out of driveway and drove to stop sign, pressed brake, all the bells and whistles began going off, the skid control light and engine light came on, indicator stated parking brake requires immediate service, wouldn't go forward or back. Turned car off and then back on, same warning lights going off. Now was unable to move from Drive to Park or vice versa. Stuck at stop sign.

Pressed emergency brake button and released, still warning service needed, then stated that engine requires service, parking button wouldn't go off. Car won't shift, knob turns but no shift, won't go forward. Turned off again and waited a minutes. Turned back on and cleared to engine light only and allowed me to shift into drive, for which I drove straight to dealership. Ran code on engine light sensor and stated something they have never seen before and has to do with transmission and braking sensor solenoid number 5?? There is also the recall due for the e brake roll-away issue to deal with. Scary since I was leaving in it on Saturday to Vegas for a week.

Gave me a loaner and secured a rental at no cost for trip. May take up to 3 weeks to fix and from other complaints on here, looks like a new transmission is coming. My dealership is the best and I have bought 5 cars there, first Chrysler, overall like the car, just hate misfortune.

SO much for America's Import!!
