Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. The contact received a notification for NHTSA campaign id numbers: 14V354000 (air bags) and 14V817000 (air bags) and stated that the parts needed were unavailable to repair the vehicle. The dealer was unable to inform when the parts would become available. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. While driving approximately 25 mph, another vehicle drove through a red light and crashed into the front passenger door of the contact's vehicle. The front driver and passenger side air bags deployed. The excessive internal pressure that caused the air bags to rupture produced metal fragments that struck the passenger. The passenger sustained a broken neck and a badly bruised and swollen face. The driver suffered from loss of memory and sustained a headache for three months. Both the driver and passenger required medical attention and a police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V354000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 30,000...updated 10/15/14 updated 11/21/14 the consumer stated the driver's air bag deployed 1/4 of the way, then burst. The vehicle was totaled. Updated 12/02/14.
