So, I'm driving my brand new Chrysler 300S down the highway when I hear faint whining noise. It starts at about 55 mph. A little while later on the same road trip, the noise becomes more obnoxious until I determine it's so obnoxious that I can't continue any further and head back into town to the dealership. On my way back in, the electronics in the car freeze. Can't change radio, volume, Bluetooth, heated seats or any other rather pricey accessory. I can switch screens, but none of the buttons work.

By the time I get to the shop, the things humming a high pitched tune at any speed beyond after 30 mph. It sounds like I'm at a cricket farm. I figured it was something metal rubbing on something else that's metal. Like a fan or something. But right under the dash/shift knob.

Dealership has my car for 2 days. They say, "Sir, we can't replicate the noise." Well, I knew this would happen which is why I recorded it on my phone. "If it starts making the noise again, bring it back." Barely out of the parking lot and my baby is singing. Possible that the cricket farms next batch of baby crickets hatched because it was worse.

A ride-along ensued to hear the noise and a guy gets in and he's a heavy smoker... YAY! New car smell vanishes. He can't figure it out. Never heard such a thing before. Doesn't respond to transmission changes or air vent changes. Just as the car gets up to speed, the sound begins.

I leave the car, they tell me after their third test drive, they think it was a fan that was rubbing on the metal heat shield. They adjust it. Sound goes away... Temporarily.

A couple weeks later, its back. I record it again. It's worse. Take it in. Car won't make the sound. Email the recording. No response from the dealership.
