About a week and a half ago my car started making a whining noise that sounded like a belt. After several days the car started jerking and not wanting to switch gears. It will stall when taking off then jump into gear but when trying to accelerate it will not want to switch gears to let you go faster. On hills it struggles in this manner even more. After a week the check engine light came on and I took it to Auto Zone to have the engine code read. The codes were trans-axle control module failure and 3rd and 4th gear ratios off. I have talked to one transmission repair shop about the issue and asked what price range I would be looking to spend to fix it and he said probably anywhere from $1600 to $2200. I have not taken it in to be inspected yet. I did try Lucas transmission stop slip and so far that has not made any improvement in the condition.
