2007 Chrysler Aspen AIR BAGS NHTSA Campaign #14V354000
Summary: Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is conducting a limited regional recall for vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment of the driver side and/or passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.
Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of one of the affected frontal air bags, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupants.
Actions: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the air bag inflator(s), free of charge. The recall is expected to begin mid-December. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. For detailed information & supporting documents, see the official NHTSA page concerning recall #14V354000 »
2007 Chrysler Aspen STEERING NHTSA Campaign #06V386000
Summary: On certain vehicles, the right front steering knuckle may have been improperly manufactured. Because of a broken cooling line, parts cast in tool cavity #63 on July 18 and July 19, 2006, may have a cold shut condition and could fracture.
Consequence: This could cause a loss of steering control and result in a crash without warning.
Actions: Dealers will inspect the recalled vehicles to identify the defective parts and replace if they are within that lot. The recall began on November 8, 2006. Owners may contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-853-1403. For detailed information & supporting documents, see the official NHTSA page concerning recall #06V386000 »
