CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 is the worst year for PT Cruiser engine complaints. Having an engine light on is annoying, but it's the complaints about the engine shutting-off while driving that really have us concerned.

My 2006 PT Cruiser's cooling fans malfunctioned three times in the ten years I owned it, and my car would overheat.

I'm currently experiencing electrical problems. I'm guessing that is has to do with the fan because when the fan turns on all the lights flash from the brake lights to the head lights you name it. When the fan turns off everything is back to normal.

I've took it to two mechanics and they both told me that had never seen a fan hooked up the way it is on my PT Cruiser. Does anyone else have these problems?

My next move is to take it to the Chrysler dealership since they might be familiar with the problem rather than somebody else and their probably going to run some electrical test and get me another fan hook up. But before I do this I wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem and fixed it. It would save me some cash.

In Christ,

Brandon
