My car is displaying the low oil pressure light when my car is idle. There is now the presence of coolant/water mixed with oil. With all theChrysler/Dodge 2.7L engine complaints logged and documented, I hate to incur another mechanic bill just to find out what I probably already know. There is white smoke coming from under the hood and from the exhaust. I have ceased driving for fear of seizing the engine. I have two more months before this car is paid off and now this!

Sebring LX Convertible 2.7L V6

Sometimes my car smells really hot, but the heat gauge only goes about halfway (which it always has). The coolant level is good. The fan doesn't seem to be running until I turn on the air conditioner. I don't understand why it smells hot sometimes and other times it doesn't.

I don't want to take it to the dealer again, in 2007 they charged me $500 for a hose clamp I think. Of course the diagnostic was $250. If someone else has fixed theirs, let me know what the solution was. I don't drive this car much. I don't like to get stranded on the highway.

Update from Jun 10, 2010: I finally just took my car to and express lube and oil place. They got under and looked at the underneath and found a black plastic bag had wrapped around the u joint and was melting at times and they cleaned all that off and the car is running fine ever since. FORGET GOING TO A DEALER, they just want your money....
