Car will suddenly accelerate when slowing down and placing foot on brake, Had been able to overcome it previously by putting car into neutral. Mechanic said he had never heard of such a problem and maybe it was floor mat stuck under gas pedal. Bring it back in if it happened again. Last night it happened again, as I was slowly turning into a parking spot on the street, put foot on brake and car suddenly took off at high speed, Managed to avoid parked car in front of me, tried riding the sidewalk, but ended up against the building. Our insurance company does not take into account mechanical failure, so I am responsible for the deductible. Lucky no one was killed and only damage was to my car and the building. Terrified to drive it again once repaired, will try reasoning with Chrysler Dealer here, but based on other comments, feel it may be futile. I will definitely have them disconnect the cruise control, because I am positive that is what kicked in which the switch shorted in the humidity.
