The Chrysler dealership had my car for a month and could not find the problem of the knocking noise. They eventually said it is a common problem with this model caused by plastic rubbing together. It is very annoying and it certainly doesn't sound safe although they claim it is not a safety hazard. I was told there is nothing I can do but not to worry because it isn't a safety hazard. The car is only 3 years old and I can only imagine this will get more annoying the longer I own the car.

There is a mysterious knocking/rattling from the front end drivers side wheel/steering area - can sometimes be felt in the steering. I've noticed others had this mysterious problem on other message boards.
