The air bag light stays on all the time, the crystler dealership says it would take a lot to fix it and it needs a recall. I have seen several people complaining about this issue on the Sebring. Mine is the touring edition. Could you please consider a recall or fix for this
Air bag light came on and stays on. Upon calling company it will take several thousand dollars to repair as it is a common problem in the steering column. Sure enough, common enough that there is indeed a recall on this - but only in certain states!!! I am in Arkansas, the states are directly to the South of me, tx, al, ms etc... how crazy is that" it is a defect, but only in a couple states?? even though my VIN number is right in there??" I got this information by calling the recall hot line... yes, if my car was in the recall states, it would be paid for...very shaddy
On the way to the hospital because the passenger was having a asthma attack and the driver and passenger had to get there son something to eat and the passenger started choking more because of the food was cooked in peanut oil and it was another car on the side of us and made us go off the road and sent the passenger all the way into a asthma exacerbation and a bronchitis exacerbation and the car crashed and the air bags did not deploy the driver, the passenger and there son was taking to skyline hospital and the driver and there son was released from the hospital while the passenger had to stay for a week at skyline hospital from the asthma and bronchitis exacerbation and a bruise left side.

2007 Chrysler Sebring defect seat belt did not hold me nor did my air bag deploy. I am still seriously injured because a high speeding drunk truck driver hit my car. I been receiving treatments for my injuries and still is. I cannot work because of this. It is time for the maker which is Chrysler to take responsibility and compensation for me because I am still receiving treatment today and had surgery since the bad car wreck I was in 2012.
The instrument panel light that illuminates the speedometer and other gauges works randomly. Airbag warning light illuminates and the warning bell sounds at random times. Engine stalls when stopping and starting in wet weather.
I purchased my vehicle from a local dealer and shortly after the air bag light came on intermittently. I brought it to the dealers numerous times for repair. To this day the air light still comes on. The last time I spoke to the dealer about it they said they repaired it and it was to long ago to be under warranty. I explained that the problem was never resolved because every time they attempted to fix the problem the light would always come back on. Sometimes it would be off for days to months but it always comes back on. They refused to look at it again without charging me a diagnostic charge.
My airbag light keeps coming on depending on the position of the passenger seat. It came on the beginning of the month and I took it to the used car place I bought it from and they don't know what they are doing there so I took it home and was playing with the seat and if the seat is pushed back the light goes on but if it is forward the light comes on. Sometimes it takes a minute or you will start driving and it pops on. What should I do?

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact indicated that while approaching a stop sign, the vehicle stalled multiple times. The contact stated that after making several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The contact indicated that the air bag and various sensors illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician replaced the battery and was not able to replicate or diagnosed the failure. The failure recurred. In addition, the contact stated that burning fumes emitted in and around the vehicle after the battery was replaced. The contact was made aware that the vehicle was not included in recall NHTSA campaign id number: 08V152000 (electrical system), NHTSA campaign id number: 07V240000 (air bags) and NHTSA campaign id number: 07V473000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owned a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. When the contact approached a traffic light, another vehicle crashed into the front driver side of the contact's vehicle and caused it to spin twice. The driver side air bags deployed without air inside of the them, allowing the contact's chest to strike the steering wheel and driver side window. A police report was filed. The contact was transported to the hospital and sustained trauma to the head, a concussion, a strained neck, and back pain injuries. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,608.
In December of 2011 I took my car into moss bros. Chrysler of san bernardino due to the air bag light for the drivers seat going on and off. They checked the problem out and determined that when the drivers seat is all the way back that the seat adjuster spring is broke and damaged wiring to the seat track sensor. Recommended to replace seat adjuster and wiring. These are the words used by the mechanic as to what the problem is. Chrysler was contacted with a request to repair the problem at their cost, and that was denied. I have made contact with Chrysler concerning this matter and was told the same thing, that I would have to pay to have this problem repaired. Over the last two years the problem has come and gone. Now the problem has come back up again. I am in fear of the air bag going off on its own or not operating properly if involved in an accident. I am tired of pursuing this matter with Chrysler and finally just gave up. After talking to a mechanic friend of mine he told me to contact your Agency to see if you can get me some sort of solution to this problem. Right now I am having the air bag light problem daily and am very concerned about my safety and others that may be in my car with me. I do hope that you are able to help me get this problem taken care of. I can not afford to pay the $1000 plus dollars that I was quoted for the repair. I am a disabled senior citizen living on just my social security disability and do hope that you will be able to resolve this problem for me. Air bag sensor will not turn off. It stays on while I am driving and while the car is at rest. It has been doing this for almost two weeks. I know that it is not the weight because I do not have anyone or anything sitting in the passenger seat. And even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat it still stays on.
The air bag indicator light will turn on and ding. This happens at random speeds for no reason as well as when moving the seat. See recall, mfg's report date June 5, 2007 for the componets: Air bag : frontal on Chrysler Sebring 2007 NHTSA campaign number : 07V-240 safety recall G14. However when I call Chrysler I was informed my VIN does not match the vehicles that were in the recall, therefore it is my responsibility to correct this repair. When I asked kelly with whom may I speak to I was informed no one. She will enter the information in her system.

Car has tmps and airbag lights constantly coming on for no reason - they stay on for days or weeks and then shut off. Both chrylser and independent mechanic have never been able to diagnose. Also, engine will lose all power while in operation at both freeway speeds and low residential speeds along with auto-start randomly not working. Chrysler and independent mechanic were not able to diagnose. Tried replacing alternator and still happened. Replaced crank shaft sensor after looking at online forums of similar stores from other Chrysler Sebring owners and still occasionally happens. Airbag light is now back on for no reason... again. I know GM has been having numerous recalls yet mine has never been included in recalls for both my model and other makes/models having these issues. It is incredibly scary driving speeds of 75mph to lose all power. I have to pull brake, put the car in park and shut off/restart. I am constantly fearful of it happening and getting into a crash that could be fatal.
This is a recall item for models right around the same time as my Sebring was built, I have called chry but they will not take responsibility. The air bag light stays on!! my air bag clock spring failed and my air bag warning light illuminated. I'm told by the dealer that my air bag will now not work, and my cruise control & steering wheel horn. This is a serious safety issue & I need to get it repaired quickly but at a cost of over $220, I can not afford. This should be paid for by daimler Chrysler!.
Attempted to start vehicle in the morning, turned the key to crank motor and the engine would not start but continued to crank. Eventually it stopped cranking, I attempted to start vehicle again then it started. Began driving my car down the highway and the air bags light started going off and stayed on for the rest of my drive. Also while driving around corners the brake light will go off as well as going down some hills.
