My airbag has came on and will not go out. The place where I bought the vehicle, refuses to help and Chrysler will not help..my van leaks transmission oil. It gets stuck in a gear. I bought a lemon.

Five different times we have had the sensor for the airbags need to be replaced. We were part of a recall on the outer one, but this is the one that is affected by the driver's seat being moved. We have had this same sensor "fixed" four times. Each time we pay and then it breaks again. It begins sending a signal that it is out when moving the driver's seat but will go back off if you move the seat again. This goes on for a few weeks and then the sensor goes bad permanently. We are now driving yet again without airbags. We have called Chrysler and have been told that we can pay yet again to have it fixed and perhaps they can send someone who knows how to fix it permanently. Or, we can get a deal on a new car. We have already paid to have it fixed more than once and we believe that Chrysler is aware of this problem and are not willing to fix it. Thus we are stuck with an unsafe car to drive our children in.

My air bag light keeps coming on, I do not know if they are functioning correctly. I found a recall #07V192000 that appeared to address my problem but Chrysler says that my VIN # is not covered. I also found recall #10V008000 which also addresses this problem but my vehicle was not manufactured during the dates of this one. Obviously Chrysler knows this is an issue on vehicles manufactured during the same time as mine but they have excluded certain vehicles manufactured during this time frame that have this same issue, like mine.

We turned on the truck and noticed the air bag light was flickering and as I was driving came on and off; and before we finished our trip the light stayed on. Another symptom that we noticed before this happened, was the dashboard needles went all the way to the opposite side but came back to normal position. I called Chrysler at 1800 853-1403 to find out information on any air bag recalls, however I was told the recall was serviced on November 15,2007 and they did not provide me with confirmation number and believe this problem was not fixed properly or was not fixed at all.

Air bag light turns on when I turn on the van, and it doesn't go off until I turn off the van. I see there was a recall in 2010 for this where the crash sensor cracks in cold weather and moisture gets into the sensor, causing the airbag light to go on and stay on, and also causing the airbags to not inflate when needed. Chrysler says my van isn't on the recall list.

Got recall notice from Chrysler L01 telling me there is an issue with my occupant restraint controller. Chrysler tells me that it could cause my air bags to deploy at the wrong time. Called dealer and he tells me that there are no parts now to repair the issue. I have to bring auto to dealer and have them disassemble and scan the part to get the correct part number of the controller, then they will order the part. Since there are currently no parts avail, the wait is expected to be up to two months or more. So in the mean time I am driving a vehicle known to have a demonstrated premature air bag deployment. Are you aware of this issue?

Air bag light is on again. There is a recall and my state is included but not my van. Had the same problem a few years ago. There was a recall. I took it to dealership and had it replaced. Now, it is on again. I see many people complaining about this same thing.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town and country. The contact was driving approximately 10 mph and heard a clicking noise coming from the steering wheel as the horn began to sound erroneously. The vehicle then stalled with the illumination of the air bag warning indicator. The engine was restarted but the clicking noise continued and the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer five times and the clock spring was replaced four separate times. One week after the forth clock was replaced the front driver side air bags deployed independently. The vehicle had been at the dealer for seven consecutive weeks and continued to remain for further investigation. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Bought my 2005 T&C Chrysler minivan in spring of 2009 with a little over 69,000 miles on it. Few months after purchase the red airbag warning light would occasionally come on while at idle or driving rates. No other problems occurred and it wasn't happening frequently. By the end of the first year of ownership, the driver side back door lock quit working with the automatic locks, and within a year an a half the driver's side window would occasionally not roll up or down and the front dome lights quit working. Replaced an air conditioner part also. Spent $500 on the front end as well that year. When window failure was more frequent I started researching on the internet about problems that have been common in this make and model of van. On Oct 4th 2011, the van failed to start, making a ticking sound, figured battery or alternator. We cleaned battery cables, tried what we could to get it started. The radio and dashlights came on, all the gauges would jump erratically; when we rolled up the passenger windows radio remained on, however when we rolled up the drivers window the radio and all gauges quit working. We ended up jumping it and were able to drive it home. Had the battery tested and tried a brand new battery to make sure that was the only problem. When we put the battery in and started it, flames shot up from the middle section of the van, just infront of the engine. The panic alarm, the horn, and the windshield wipers where all going off. As soon as we got the battery disconnected the fire went out and alarms and wipers went off. I talked to the nearest Chrysler dealership and from explanation of the various problems they said it sounded like several little problems as opposed to one big electrical problem. I have 3 small children and after the experiences I have had with the van and reading others issues online, I cant wait to get rid of this piece.

My vehicle is a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country mini-van. The air bag warning light comes on frequently. In spring 2009, [?] I called Chrysler headquarters, and requested they fix it. I talked to a Chrysler rep. A few times, by phone, who required that I take it to the dealer for a diagnostic test, which I was to pay for. I did. But Chrysler waved the diagnostic fee. They told me that Chrysler was not going to cover the cost of the fix. As the recall at that time did not include Missouri. Only 20 some states in the N.E. area. They did however have the light turned off for a week or so, then it came back on. And on one 80 mile drive I made, this 'airbag' light came on and off around 100 times. It still comes on and off maybe not that frequently. I think Chrysler should be required to take care of this, & the seat belt retainer issue, which is also intermittent. Chrysler did try to fix the seatbelt retainer back in 2007 I think it was, but its not completely cured.

We have previously had trouble with the 'seat belt light' coming on the dash. The seat belt retainer was suposedly replaced by pettyjohn in bethany, mo. Sometime I think in early 2007. Air bag light stays on the dash continually, now days. Summer of 2010 I contacted Chrysler. They told me to have my local dealer ( barnes baker, trenton, mo. Run some dianostic tests, which I would have to pay for.. I did have them run but Chrysler waved they charge. The 'airbag light' was turned off, I believe by tecnician running daignostics. The 'air bag' light stayed out for a short while after the diagnostics was run. The Chrysler representative told me by phone that Chrysler was not going to pay for the repairs. For quite sometime afterwards the 'airbag light' was intermittant, now since winter of 2010/2011 it stays on continually.

My husband was T-boned in our 05 Town and country limited by a truck carrying a double long horse trailer running a red light. The impact hit right at the sliding door on the driver's side. The glass on the sliding door and rear seats were knocked out. The metal from the van came in and formed around the edges of my 2 year old's carseat. No side airbags deployed. Chrysler sent someone out to investigate and said that the airbags were "found fully functional" and that the impact was not great enough to cause the airbags to deploy. The accident totaled out our vehicle and we feel very strongly that the airbags should have deployed. Had my daughter not been in her carseat correctly, she would have gotten crushed by the metal of the van slamming into her body. I just had our faulty airbag sensor light fixed in June 2010 (which was staying illuminated at all times) and wonder if the side airbags also weren't functioning correctly. My husband and daughter were slightly injured but it could have been better had the airbags deployed. Mileage at time of accident and total loss - 55,990.

The red light on the dash panel comes on while the engine is on. This happens whether the vehicle is in motion or stationery. If frequently goes out after a few minutes. There has been no frontal impact with this vehicle. Approximate mileage when it began was 85000; present mileage is 91000. Dealer did not diagnose any problem. Problem occurs almost every time the vehicle is driven but does not last more than a few miles.

I had to have the clock spring replaced on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van. This same part was the subject of a recall in 1999-2002. It seems they still don't have it right. I was told by the dealer that Chrysler did not cover the repair. It controls the airbag! can you help? Did a little survey on your site (ODI) and found the following ref. The # of complaints per year model for air bag related failures (category air bags-airbags frontal - air bag sensor) year 2001. 52 complaints year 2002. - 51 complaints vehicles recalled and repaired by Chrysler. Year 2003 - 14 complaints year 2004 - 2 complaints sounds like the problem is fixed "???" year 2005 - 91 yes 91 complaints for the airbag "system" namely the clockspring. I think that a life and safety device that the consumer has paid for should work and it's time for Chrysler to come forward and repair it.

Dealer performed recall on air bag sensor (in the bumper) with in days clockspring failed. And airbag light illuminated. Dealer refused to repair under recall. Reporting party feels this is a life safety issue and Chrysler should cover replacement as they did for all the early clockspring failures. Owner cost $283.
