The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town and country. The contact was driving in rainy weather conditions at various speeds and upon encountering a puddle in the road, the airbag warning indicator began to illuminate. The warning light remained illuminated until the air temperature completely dried out the moisture that accumulated internally from the rain. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and repaired under a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 07V192000 (air bags: Frontal: Sensor/control module). A few days after the repair, while driving in severe rainy conditions the failure recurred. The recall remedy was insufficient. The dealer was notified and they refused to diagnose the vehicle without a charge. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified regarding the failure and they were unable to assist. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

For at least six months, we have had an issue with the airbag sensor coming on in our vehicle. This concerns us that our air bag may not operate correctly in the event of a collision. We checked the recall list and found that there is a recall for our type of vehicle, but for those manufactured a few months after ours. I feel the same problem probably exists in our car and should be included in the recall. I also fear that it is a safety issue. The recall says it is Chrysler's campaign number J38.

The front passenger airbag light often comes on my 2005 Chrysler Town and country when the steering wheel is turned. I took it to the dealer when this happened the first time, and they replaced the wiring harness for the airbag, but the problem still occurs. Also, the headlamps often fail to turn on when the switch is turned. Turning the switch on and off several times usually solves the problem, but lately it seems to be getting worse.

Did a little survey on your site (ODI) and found the following ref. The # of complaints per year model for air bag related failures (category air bags-airbags frontal - air bag sensor) year 2001. 52 complaints year 2002. - 51 complaints vehicles recalled and repaired by Chrysler. Year 2003 - 14 complaints year 2004 - 2 complaints sounds like the problem is fixed "???" year 2005 - 91 yes 91 complaints for the airbag "system" namely the clockspring. I think that a life and safety device that the consumer has paid for should work and it's time for Chrysler to come forward and repair it.

Dealer performed recall on air bag sensor (in the bumper) with in days clockspring failed. And airbag light illuminated. Dealer refused to repair under recall. Reporting party feels this is a life safety issue and Chrysler should cover replacement as they did for all the early clockspring failures. Owner cost $283.

Air-bag fault light came on while driving down the road. Dealer says that both front impact sensors need to be replaced due to corrosion, to the tune of $300! it doesn't seem reasonable that after 5 years and 62,000 a required safety device this important should have to be replaced at my expense due to corrosion.

The airbag sensor on M Y 2005 Chrysler town and county has failed. The dealership reports my particular car is not covered under manufacturer's recall 07V192000 (NHTSA action # EA06003). Since over 270,000vehicles were involved, perhaps it should be expanded to cover additional vehicles. The dealership wants to charge me nearly $300 to correct the air bag sensor light. Thank you for your assistance.

2002-2006 Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, air bag failure through defective steering clockspring part. This is still an ongoing defect that inactivate the airbag system. I am actively involved in a auto repair forum and the total number of clockspring failures is extremely high. This is from normal usage, not from any person damaging it. Chrysler in the past year models has offered to repair them. But now refuses. I have replaced mine for $300+ collision catalog - 2005 - Chrysler - Town and country restraint systems, air bag components, clockspring.
