I was standing beside the parked vehicle with the side door open, driver's side, inspecting the 2nd row swivel seat to see if it is removable. I was bent over the forward facing 2nd row seat when I lifted the release lever that tilts the seat back forward. The seat back flung forward with violent force, the headrest hitting on the right side of my face. It broke my nose, which bled profusely and had to be manually straightened by a nurse.

Intermittently, while driving, the driver's seat with activate and move backwards a few inches and then forwards a few inches. This is often accompanied by an audible chime and the dashboard lights flashing on once. The speedometer and tachometer will also briefly start to drop toward 0 when the dashboard lights flash on before returning to normal when the dashboard lights turn off. The movement of the driver's seat while actively driving could be a serious safety issue when it occurs unexpectedly or if it were to happen to move all the way forward or backward. This behavior at times will repeat every minute or so. Other times it will not occur for several days.

The passenger side outboard shield required replacing. When the shield was being taken off the lower end of the seat belt fell off. This was due to stripped threads on the pad head screw that is used to fasten the belt to the seat frame and also the threads in the seat frame are stripped.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that the third row seat folded in on a passenger while sitting in the seat. The contact stated that the seat was folded down to where you can have the liftgate up and sit in the rear of the vehicle. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and asked if the seat had any safety feature to stop the seat. The contact had to get the young passenger out of the seat, but the frame of the seat fractured. Once the retract button was pushed, there was no way to stop it from folding. The manufacturer stated that the seat was out of warranty. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic and it was determined that the failure could have seriously injured a young person. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 49,000.

While driving at any speed the van randomly starts blinking all lights on the dashboard and then the driver power seat starts randomly going forward and backwards which creates a very dangerous driving situation. This has happened on multiple occasions and is started to become more frequent. When this happens we immediately pull over to the side of the road because at times you cannot touch pedals because the seat is extended to the full length making it hard to reach the pedals. Our van has never been in an accident, this just started happening this month.

My wife experienced an electric shock from the driver seat when she started the engine and the electric shocks continued while the engine was running. The electric shock was severe, causing pain and forcing her to get out of the seat, and continued while she sat in the seat. The electric shocks appear to come from the right side of the seat cushion. In order to drive the vehicle she had to insulate herself with cardboard which appear to muffle the shocks so she can drive the van home. There were no burning smells only a steady continuous electric shock.

As you are driving the dashboard will start a beeping sound, lights on dash will flash on and off. The seat will start to move back and forward, up and down. This is very dangerous for this to happen while you are driving.

Was driving down the road when the alarm started beeping, lights on dashboard flickered, and wipers go on and off on their own. Has happened several times. Now the passenger back door automatic buttons do not work and the driver's seat will move forward and back when driving. This is a huge safety issue and the Chrysler dealerships are not helpful in finding a solution. Said it will take several weeks to try and diagnose what's wrong. I am alarmed that more people are having similar issues and a recall has not been made. It's hard to drive when your seat is moving. In addition, sometimes my transmission will not shift. Seems to be an electrical problem. Once I turn the vehicle off and restart it, seems to run fine.

I was cleaning behind the drivers side, middle row seat with a shop vac. I wanted to clean under the seat so I pulled the handle to disengage the seat from the floor. The back of the chair released from the floor and tipped forward. I had my right hand on the back of the chair to assist it and when the chair came forward the sear adjusted itself and slid down towards the floor. Somehow, when the chair slid forward it trapped my ring finger on my right hand in what I would call the seat rails. It basically smashed it flat against the back of a bolt so tight I could not free it. This was surprising painful!! because of the awkward position I was now trapped in. I could not get my finger out on my own. I had to yell for my kids to get my phone so I could call my wife to help me free my hand. I ended up with a small cut and bruised finger.

During a recent family vacation, we loaded our 2008 Chrysler Town and country for the first time with a lot of luggage. The third row has power folding seats with the wider side having a car seat and the smaller side unoccupied. While trying to retrieve items from the rear during a rest stop, the luggage shifted and activated the power folding seat. Thankfully, the seat my child was in didn?T fold because of the car seat. The other seat proceeded to fold and crush everything on it. Three more times we accidentally enabled this when the luggage shifted and the car seat and luggage had to be completely removed each time to allow the seats to go back. There should be a trap door over these buttons or a lockout switch to prevent this from happening! not only is it very dangerous but also very frustrating. We have to always make sure now that we don't load up anything on the left side of our van and it's only a matter of time before a child is injured by a seat accidentally being folded.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country touring van, bought in January of 2008. Since I bought the van the radio had to be replaced twice, the dvd player and monitors had to be replace, and the back shock or strut leaked all the fluid out on my garage floor. The sliding doors both operate when they want, they will start to close and then just reopen, if you try to close they don't want to, the back hatch has done the same thing. The driver's window had to be fix twice because it wouldn't open or close and they told me it was the sound barrier that had fallen off of the door and it need to be reattached. The drivers seat has a broken track on it and all of this has been happening since 190 miles and on, now have 10089 miles on the van and still having problems with the sliding doors.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact noticed that there were no overloads or safety stops for the power folding rear seat. He was concerned that if a child were to sit in the seat and use the power option, they may be injured due to the lack of safety stops on the seat. The mounting brackets on the seat were dented because the motors were holding up the seat. The contact planned to speak with the dealer when he was there for a routine oil change. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current and failure mileages were approximately 7,000.
