Went to Tire Kingdom to check the squealing noise that I have had since I got the vehicle new. It seemed to get much worse. They put the car up and called me in the back to look at the damage to all the brakes. replace everything. 2 months later Chrysler did a recall on the brakes, but only reimbursed me for the front brakes. 20000 miles later I am forced to get my back brakes done again because a bracket is not working properly. Called Chrysler Customer service and was told, that because I had an independent fix my brakes the last time, they would not cover it, even though the brackets are original to the vehicle, and the Chrysler service department said the cause of everything else wearing out was because of the brackets.

This was my 4th Chrysler/Dodge Minivan and my last. Goodbye Chysler.

This is the SECOND time the pad wore down. The first time was at 12k miles. At 36k the rotors were also worn and it was just outside the 3 year warranty (which doesn't normally cover brakes but because of the number of problems with brakes in T&C the first time the dealer offered to fix it, at 12k miles) . This time at 36k miles the basic warranty was out and the dealer wouldn't touch it so I called Chrysler. They were very nice and quick to replace the pads with a higher quality pad but they resurfaced the rotors, which I wish they would have replaced. We are at 66k miles now and the brakes are the least of our worries!

Same story as everyone else. Couldn't believe front brake pads were completely worn out...uniform wear pattern...but down to metal on metal with the rotors in less than 25k miles. I purchased the best ceramic replacement pads I could buy....and they lasted about the same amount of time. In all cases, they are wearing evenly...just wearing out way too fast. I'm now on my third set. At least with the ceramics, they chrome rims don't look like crap with black brake dust as they did with the initial OEM pads.

It's amazing Dodge is still in business. I purchased this T&C new in 2008 because of the lifetime warranty. Well, they've figured out a way to get your money. Lousy, crummy, POS brakes that need to be replaced every 12K miles. And guess what, not covered under the warranty! The first time I had just over 12 miles and they wanted me to pay almost $400 just for pads. I laughed out loud. The dealership offered to pay for them under a "good faith" warranty because they wanted my business. Well guess what? Another year and 12K miles later, front brakes and rear pads and rotors. Almost $600 bucks and no "good faith" warranty this time.

They know there is a problem with the crap they're building and they want be to keep putting the same crap on the car. I learned how to do the brakes with the help of a friend. $225 for front and rear pads and rotors. Stop throwing your money away!!!

My 2008 Chrysler Town and Country(Touring model) van's brakes were beginning to rub and squeal so I took them to my mechanic who told me the front brakes would have to be completely rebuilt even though the car only had 24000 miles on it. When he looked up the vin number he said there was a recall on the brakes. When I contacted Chrysler to find out why I was not notified of this serious issue the customer service rep. stated the recall only covered 1 year leases and less than 12,000 miles. More recently Chrysler expanded the recall to cover a second year (which I miss by a few days). If Chrysler knows there is a problem with their brakes, then they need to stand behind their product and and pay for the fix. A complete brake overhaul at 24000 miles is ridiculous.
