The transmission will lock up in "limp" mode so that the speed will not go over 45 while the engine is racing at a high RPM. This is not a great feeling to be driving on the interstate highway when this happens. Another poor design by the engineers. Also, there is not a dipstick on the transmission to check the fluid level. Also another pair engineer design. Chysler vehicles used to be top rated for performance and those are the only vehicles I've owned since 1967! I'm getting so frustrated with my chysler vehicles to the point that I may have to start buying a different brand. That doesn't make me a very happy customer!!

Just replaced my battery from aaa and was told everything else is good just my battery is completely drained and this morning I could not start my car at all then later it started but I got stuck at work now and it wont start at all not even a jump will help. Also while driving it goes crazy from time to time and the speedometer shoots up soo high that I get scared and have to hold on tight to the steering wheel. My ac works when it wants too and in Jan I was told my van's back calipers are shot. I was driving for a year with no back calipers meanwhile the front one got stuck and turned bright red and I had to get that one replaced last year. Its just one problem after another. I feel like im constantly replacing something.

Transmission abruptly, seems as if it cannot find the correct position to shift to causing an extreme vibration. At times it feels as if the vehicle is going to come to a stop. This can be dangerous should the transmission stop while at highway speeds. This problem also seems to distract, or scare the driver since at times the transmission makes a loud bang.

When driving on a flat surface between 35 and 45 mph there is a shuddering/stuttering that happens. It feels like the van does not know whether to speed up or slow down. Sometimes when this happens the vehicle will completely shutoiff/stall causing steering and braking to be reduced. I have to quickly put vehicle in neutral and then restart. If I keep rpms high by staying in a lower gear there is no stuttering/shuddering

While I was driving on the on-ramp to a highway my car hit a bump and lost control and I started sliding. Thankfully there happened to be no one coming. I noticed that when my van stopped halfway in a ditch and halfway on the left lane I went to move my vehicle it wouldn't move so I then noticed it was off but still in drive and the key was still on. So I put it in park and shut it off then turned it back on then was able to proceed driving but since then my esp/bas, and traction control light have been on. After having that happened I had the recall on my van fixed. Well the lights are still there and now the driving is worse. I cant control my steering and they say it is my steering angle sensor. They also say my catalytic converter needs fixed and a PCM flash. Which I don't understand how all these problems started since my ignition unwillingly shut off. I am thinking that caused a power surge, and now its going to cost me $2000 to fix it if not more. My problems now are: 1) misfire in cylinder 4 2) rough idle 3) accelerating slowly while RPM's are above 3000 4) stumbling while driving (shakes or vibrates really bad while in drive/ or putters) 5) esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light illuminated on dash 6) steering wheel shakes from left to right on its own 7) loud engine noise 8) motor shakes 9) ABS reader says to replace steering angle sensor (clockspring) 10) there is more I just cannot think of it right now. This is currently what I have fixed in the last two weeks to see if it helps the problem. 1) oil change (always up to date) 2) spark plugs 3) spark plug wires 4) battery 5) ignition coil pack 6) upstream O2 sensor 7) recall done on win module ignition switch fobik key I have contacted Chrysler to inform them of this and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and its not a manufacture defect.

My van started making a crunching noise while driving(on a city street), so I took it to my repairman and he said it was a transmission. It hesitates to go into gear and "thunks" while driving. I got it home and it is sitting in my driveway.

Traveling East on I 180, in left lane ready to turn onto I 80 East, took cruise control off and a loud revving noise occurred, engine shut down. Safely, through built up momentum was able to move across highway to berm off of right lane. Initially thought it might be transmission. Was towed to garage and after initial check, they thought it was a shifting rod. Transmission was removed from car and further testing showed it was the "torque converter". part has been ordered, waiting till part comes in and can be replaced in car. If highway had not been clear behind us at the time of this incident, all 3 passengers in the van would have been killed by oncoming tractor trailers, etc. It was a very stressful moment for all of us.
