Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

When I try to open the sliding door, it started freaking out. Lights flashing, wipers on, washer fluid dispersing, horn blowing etc. I thought I accidentally pressed the panic button. I pressed the other buttons in the remote and it stopped after a while. It happened again while driving in a highway and stopped after a while. Took it to the dealer and they are saying that they can't find any fault codes in their diagnosis. Call Chrysler and asked them whether this a manufacturer error or recall. They are not helpful. Checked the internet and many people complained about the same about Chrysler vehicles. Dealer mechanic says it might be issue with total integrated power module. This is their best guess and not sure whether it's going to fix the issue. Their estimate is $1000 to fix it. I don't want to spend $1000 where the dealer is not even sure it's going to fix the issue.I'm wondering about why Chrysler is not taking responsibility of this issue and make a recall since I do see may complaints about the same issue with multiple Chrysler vehicles.

While driving down a main road, the car suddenly shut down. Nothing worked. I could not brake or steer as power steering went. The only thing that stayed on was the radio. Car slowly coasted and eventually stopped. My 2 young children were in the car, I have already told dealer about this and they said they could find nothing wrong but that it sounds like a key roll back issue. They told me if it happens while driving again I should turn key as it may have moved from on position to acc position due to a bump in the road. Turning the key did nothing. After the car stopped I attempted to restart car and everything worked except the malfunction indicator light stayed on. This is a serious issue and Chrysler service department did not seem to care when I called! then I begin researching and find that they recalled 2009 vehicles of the same make for the same problem!

Two years ago, while driving at night, horn, wipers, wiper fluid and lights began going off and on by themselves. Stopped the car and turned off the car, but it kept on going on. I was in the car with my 5 children and my husband was not with us. It totally freaked out my children and me. My husband came and disconnected the battery and it stopped. On the way home it had stopped. Call our Chrysler dealership in the morning, but they had no idea what we were talking about and said to bring it in. Not being under warranty (68,000 miles) we decided to do our own research (husband works on cars on a regular basis). We only found that others in this situation were not having any luck at dealership. We have learned how to deal with this for 2 years now. We have taken out the fuse for the horn and wipers (as both will not turn off anymore) and insert wipers when raining. We don't feel safe with this situation, but not able to do anything else. Happens often without pattern. Waiting for a recall since this seems to be a huge problem with Chrysler. Very disappointed in the product.

I have a 2008 Town and country touring. This incident has happened twice. While driving the vehicle there was a loud click then all electronics flash and the vehicle shuts off. The steering, brakes everything locks up but the car continues to move. Luckily both time this has happened we where in a neighborhood, driving slow and no one was hurt. I have had this into the dealership twice, but they can never diagnose or replicate it. Both times the dealership has guessed at what it could be, but obviously the first time they were not correct. Since the dealership can not diagnose it, my concern is that the next time it happens someone could get hurt. I have read multiple sites that this issue has occurred to countless other, but no recall. Now, reading about the issues that GM is going through it sounds exactly the same, but Chrysler is not doing anything about it.

With the car sitting in the garage the key was placed in the vehicle and showed no signs of starting. After several attempts to start the vehicle with no success the alarm activated with the lights flashing and the horn blaring. In order to shut off the alarm I had to disconnect the battery. The vehicle was then towed to the nearest Chrysler dealership where upon inspection was told that the win module would need to be replaced. After 12 days I was finally informed that the part is on backorder and that they could not tell me when it would be available. I then contaced chryster customer service where I was given a case number and was informed that my case would be sent to the special parts division because this division can sometimes find parts faster than the dealership. I have been unable to get a loaner car from the dealership and Chrysler would not help me find a replacement car. There seems to be no end insight to this ordeal.

2008 Chrysler Town and country limited minivan looses power shortly after take off. This generally occurs within 30 seconds of take off at <5 mph but has occurred at up to 15 mph once or twice. Warming up engine does not always seem to eliminate problem. Drive vehicle every day but power loss occurs randomly - meaning not set days such as every other day or once a week. Could occur more or less. Traction control light comes on. Almost complete loss of steering and breaking ability. Tachometer goes to 0. can't rev engine but heater and radio remain on. Once car is turned off and key removed, then turned back on, problem goes away. Car also feels like it's running out of gas or is going to stall after take off at different times during the day. Often when I leave work for lunch or leave to return home. Car has yet to shut off completely in this situation. Occurs mostly between 20-40 mph but not exclusively. Remains between 1-5 minutes and then works normally again. Took it for inspection the week of March 17. Couldn't duplicate problem. Computer lights not on though ABS sensor was found through diagnosis. Sensor was cleared. Drove again this week and car stalled yesterday, with "running out of gas" issue around noon and around 4:30 P.M. relayed information back to mechanic. Currently keeping a running log before taking it back to mechanic for further diagnosis.

The vehicle will suddenly die while in motion. The ignition must be turned off before it will restart. Therefore, we must come to a complete stop. Very dangerous on a busy street. Fortunately, I was able to recently coast off the highway to restart. It will also have electrical malfunction such as all the gauges intermittently shutting off and not starting.

I am a victim of these electrical issues with the 2008 T&C like hundreds of others. Driving the car lights will flash on and off, wipers will come on and some times the car stops running. Here is another complaint from another owner, same symptoms, and we're not alone. Somebody is going to get killed. Recall!? complaint - electrical system, exterior lighting, visibility wiper the following has been happening for over a week now. When starting my vehicle, the wipers independently turned on, the headlights flashed every time the wipers where deployed independently. The wiper and light on/off was checked. Turned off and on, and still both items flashed, and swiped by themselves. January 29th, operator was driving 25 mph, all dash lights blinked, including but not limited to, esp, brake, engine, and airbag lights, airbag light remained on, wipers deployed and RPM gauge reduced to 0 for 5 seconds. Pulled over turned ignition off, opened door, shut door restarted vehicle. The above repeated itself, with more errors, now the driver window controls did no longer work. This happened repeatedly for 5 full minutes before resuming normal operation. It seems it could be related to a wiring harness issue, or leaking door seals letting the wires get wet and short out. We need help.

Car shuts down while driving. First the electronic stability control light comes on. The car's power steering fails, and the car shuts down. Radio continues to play. Have to pull out the key and restart. The car shut down 4 times over a 2 mile journey. The problem is worse and dealer finds nothing wrong... even though Chrysler recalled 2009 vehicles for this same mysterious problem. They fail to acknowledge it. I have four children I drive to school....are they waiting til we get into a serious accident? I assume its cheaper to pay off a death lawsuit than a recall.

I will be driving or parked and my dash is flickering, the lights on my dash go crazy lighting up, my odometer goes around and my car stalls. When it stalls I cannot get by key out or restart my car. Everything is dead including air bags and hazard lights. I must then open the hood and tap on the battery. I have replaced the battery and got a new key but it seems to happen anyway. I am concerned that I may not be able to get off the road before it stalls so I will not be able to let the other cars know that I am disabled and they may hit me. I drive my kids around in the car and am concerned that we are going to get into an accident because of it. I noticed another complaint with some of the same symptoms. I hear that GM has a recall could it also be with Chrysler? please look into this before someone dies.

This van has been shutting down while driving to often now. It is now a case number with Chrysler but no one has solved the problem it is now back in the dealer for the 4th time on this incident. We experienced more than once very near accidents on busy roads. Too dangerous to drive. I can't believe the amount of problems with these Chrysler's shutting down and from what I reviewed on line there are different years involved. I have the 2008 one and they recalled the 2009 ones. But I really think they need to re do the E2008 from the amount of people I have read reviews on. All owners of 2008. Very serious issue.

Automobile shuts off unexpectedly while driving. Driving in dry conditions. Speed range between 20-35 mph the car unexpectedly shuts off. The steering becomes un-responsive, brakes fail and not work. You have to take the keys out of the ignition, and re-insert keys to get the car to start again. I reported this issue last year. This happened also last year several times. Chrysler said it was a software issue and updated software. This is a lie. The car has done this 10 times since owning it. I drive 5 children to school. This is a very big safety issue. 2009+ Town and country's have been recalled for this very complaint, but will not acknowledge it for 2008 models. I guess they are going to wait til a family gets killed to recognize it. I am afraid to sell this car to anyone.

When I went to start my car the windshield wipers came on would not go off. The dash board lights are flashing and the bell sound in the car wont go off. The speedometer and RPM gauges will not work. The lights dim. I had small issues with this previously but it stopped. I tried to rest the computer system by disconnecting the battery but it did not work.. I have had many issues with this car. My engine went out because of a rod bearing. I had asked the dealership to listen to the knocking in the car but they said they did not hear any thing. I always had my oil changed when required. My mother has the same year and model car and now hers is doing the same thing. It cost me $1500 to repair. I only had 60,000 miles on it when in started and 80,000 when it went out.
