I have had my van for a little over 3 years and have already had to replace the front brakes on it twice and the rear brakes once. Both times the rotors and brake pads had to be replaced. I have had to replace all 4 tires as well, and that was only at a little over 40,000 miles. I have had to replace the battery, and I am now fixing the A/C & heating system for the third time. And every time I check the mail I receive another recall notice! and all the issues "could cause a fire". in addition, my rear automatic doors do not always close, I have to manually close them or they come back open. I have been paged out of a store for my back doors being open, after I watched them begin to close. I also have problems with the radio freezing.

The wiper blades (both front and back window) turn on without warning. The windshield wiper fluid will spurt out. And the horn will honk. These items will act like this for a short time and up to 10 minutes and won't stop. The car has stopped while I have been driving and will not start for up to 15 minutes. The cars engine will be running even after turning the key to off and taking the key out of the ignition. I have not used the transponder for no other reason than to start the car. The wipers, fluid and horn do not happen all of the time but, it does happen frequently. The car stopping has occurred twice and while my mobility limited mother was in the car with me.

2008 Chrysler Town and country lost power- stalled when accelerating on highway ramp. The stalls have happened several other times but nothing like in this dangerous situation. The power steering was lost and it wouldn't restart until it was back in park.

Ignition failed while driving on interstate 40 in raleigh, nc. Had just cross over bridge and noticed a bump in the road when going from bridge to road. Ignition shut off completely, had to move to shoulder, place in park and to re-start vehicle. On 07/27/2011, ignition failed while making left hand turn across divided highway (with green traffic light arrow). Both incidents came without warning, and although the first incident occurred after experiencing a bump in the road, the second incident occurred on smooth surface. Autopark Chrysler Jeep (cary, nc) service the vehicle on 07/28/2011 and replaced the "win" module, stating they believed the keyless ignition was not maintaining connection with the key fob. They also noted this has happened before, and it is a recall item on similar Dodge Grand Caravan models (2010 and 2009) with identical ignition and key fob design. Please take action as our family narrowly escaped potentially tragic accidents and although our dealership felt compelled to fix the problem, it could happen to anyone else at anytime without any warning, and the results could be fatal.

Vehicle stalled on slow right hand turns. Happened 5 or 6 times. Electrical system appeared to be dead, no dashboard lights and the indicators stopped blinking. Vehicle restarted every time after stopping and putting the transmission into park position. Chrysler 5 star dealer in ellington ct could not find a problem. The vehicle had the ignition key module replaced under warranty prior to this because it died. The dealer didn't think the new module could be the problem.

2008 Chrysler Town and country van has been stalling while driving since 45K miles. It stalled once every other month at first, now it is every day. It stalls while driving 15mph or 60mph. The dealership has seen it two times in the service department and have been unable to determine what the cause is. When it stalls the breaks and gas are not functioning, the steering wheel locks, and the vehicle must coast to a stop. There is no warning when it will stall other than the RPM gauge suddenly drops from 1-2 to 0 rapidly. In that time it is possible to prevent the stall if the vehicle can accelerate quickly, but it is dangerous to watch the RPM gauge while simultaneously watching the road. The engine does not change sound at all.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated the vehicle would stall without warning intermittently on at least six occasions. The contact stated that right before the failure would occur, the air conditioner and radio would fail. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after each failure. The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that vehicle was stalling. The vehicle does not give any warning before it shut down; however, it does not occur while sitting idle. The contact stated that the sliding doors do not close automatically. The doors close and then open back up. The doors will only close manually. The contact also stated that the engine light came on and the dealer had to replace the etesian indicator sensor. The brakes had to be replaced twice within the first 37603 miles. The first time they were replaced at 21000 miles. The rear brakes had to be replaced at 29781. The rear lift gate broke in September 2009. The starter failure caused the air conditioner to fail and the windows from opening and closing. The contact stated that they also had a problem with the air bag light coming on. The clock spring steering angle sensor was replaced. The vehicle will start and the gear shift selector would move, but when the gas pedal was engaged the vehicle would not accelerate. The dealer replaced the transmission, but the contact was not sure why. Updated 11/05/10. Updated 1/25/11 updated 04/18/11

Two problems: 1. while driving very slowly around a curvy road, the engine just stopped ( 2 times) making me hit the curb. The dealership re flashed the computer software and the problem went away. 2. while going up on a small hill, the steering wheel just locked and I could not steer it at all. I turned the engine off and the problem went away. The dealer states that nothing can be done. It is a safety concern especially if it happens on busy highway.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. On May 1, 10, and 16, 2008, the vehicle stalled while driving between 20-50 mph. The vehicle lost power steering and all the components in the passenger compartment shut off. The contact pulled over to the shoulder and the vehicle restarted on its own. He was able to drive the vehicle as normal. On May 19, 2008, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. He was informed to drive the vehicle until the failure recurred. The vehicle loses power when driving around corners, but does not shut off completely. The vehicle fails to immediately accelerate for up to five seconds, and then operates normally. On occasion, the radio will not turn on for at least 45 minutes before operating normally again. In addition, the sliding driver's side door has a history of opening when the contact is away from the vehicle. The current mileage was 2,100 and failure mileage was 1,638.
