My van is not starting right away as it usually does. Had I been on the road would have caused a accident. The throttle light is on at the start, first it was the oil light. Had some mechanics say fuel pump but then read it is a fuse issue with the throttle

Vehicle shuts off while driving. How can this problem, addressed literally hundreds and thousands of times on multiple sites, be judged by your department as not a "safety issue"" I, along with my wife, have been driving down the road with my family at highway speeds and the van completely shuts down. I have been driving down my driveway at low speeds and the van completely shuts down. The van behaves as if possessed. The horn blares, front and rear wipers come on by themselves, flashers come on by themselves, doors lock by themselves, washer fluid sprays on its own at a high volume. I have decided, since NHTSA, Chrysler, and my local dealership can't/won't help, that I will call an exorcist. I believe the exorcist will be about as much help as the three of you combined. I assume if my beautiful wife and daughter are killed as a result of the engine shutting off at random speeds one of you three will pay the funeral expense? or at least send some flowers to the visitation? how nice of you. Or should I just contact the exorcist again and see if she has a friend that could hold a seance so I can tell them how much I loved them and that their safety was just not a priority for you" seriously. It is time to do something. I do not have the kind of money the dealership is asking me to pay for a widely known and accepted defect in the manufacturing process of their vehicle. The total integrated power module (tipm) is faulty. Everyone knows it. The company acknowledges it. Thousands have been replaced at the owner's expense. When is someone going to step up" how many people have to die before it becomes a "safety issue" to you" so for now I have a very expensive lawn ornament and my family has to bum rides. Unbelievable.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. While driving 30 mph, the contact noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that she had to refuel the vehicle with fuel approximately every ten minutes as the fuel gauge continued to display empty. In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent auto shop where it was diagnosed with a failure in injector number four that needed replacement. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and repaired. The independent mechanic test drove the vehicle after the repairs, but the failures persisted. The independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle as having a misfire in cylinder four. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was advised that it was not safe to drive. The independent mechanic suggested that the vehicle be taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000. The VIN was unavailable.

When filling the gas tank, gas continued to pump when the tank was full and it overflowed out of the tank onto the ground. I assumed it was a broken pump at the gas station, and reported the spill to the clerk. Next refueling at a different station it happened again. Only way to prevent it is to leave the car running while refueling so you can watch the gas gauge rise and stop before it gets too full. There is no way to misuse or abuse this part of the car, so one can assume the part was defective. Dealership informed my it would cost $1400 to fix.

Having problems with the electrical system as described by many others here. Car can be sitting still in driveway or driving when the horn will go off, dashboard lights go on, wipers starting going up and down, windshield fluid starts shooting out, electrical components in vehicle don't work, A/C doesn't work, and if driving, car will not shift into gear at higher speeds. Cannot turn off or stop any of this. I tried turning car on and off, hit buttons on remote, and this will continue for a few minutes until finally stopping on its on. Very scary when you are driving! almost got in multiple accidents so far and with my kids in the car!

It started by engine cutting off while running down the road 20 - 50 mph we shift to neutral and restart it. This has been happening ever since we purchased it from the dealership in myrtle beach. They worked on it and said it something about the valves were dirty and charges us $300. And it continued cutting off on us on the way back home. This happens every time we drive it. We took it to the dealership in conway, SC and they could find nothing wrong. I left there, drive away on the busy highway and it cuts off a number of times. I have complained to both dealerships a number of times and they do not know what to do. I have taken it to a local mechanic and he is also puzzled. We have replaced the fuel pump, water pump and timing belt, battery. Yesterday, November 30th we came from long ave. To 701 approximately 3-5 miles and it cut off 5 times while doing approximately 45 - 50 mph. We turned onto 701 and it cut off 3 times in less than a mile. The last time it cut off we making a left turn, luckily the light was green (busy intersection - 4 way traffic/shopping center. We got through the intersection and pulled off road because it would not start. When we turned the ignition on it would just click one time. After about 10 minutes it started and we went the last half mile home with the vehicle jumping and skipping all the way. We are afraid to leave home on it for fear of an accident or getting stranded. We feel this is a factory problem and should not be a burden on us. Since 1995 we have purchased 10 Chrysler products and this is the worse.what do you plan to do about this problem.

While driving down a secondary road at appriximately 25 mph the motor shut down as well as power to the steering and brakes. Proceeded to coast down the road until a safe place was identified to turn off the road. Since power had cutoff steering and braking the vehicle was extremely difficulty. Stopped the vehicle safely and placed the shifter into park and turned the ignition to the off position. Restarted the vehicle with no indication of any further problems. Two months later the same problem occured but vehicle was traveling at 35 mph this time.
