Headlights randomly won't turn on, or will flicker and die with no warning. Toggling the switch does nothing, I can only get the fog lights to give me any light to see by. Initial problem occurred in the driveway, car was stationary. Have had them go out while driving on city streets as well.

The headlights flickered and then stopped working at startup in both auto and manual mode, highbeems also did not work. After sitting a while the headlights starting working again then without warning stopped working again (tail lights, fog lights are not affected). This is the 3rd time the headlight failure has occurred. I have read on message boards that this headlight issue is a result of a faulty tipm.

Headlight stop working when driving at night and you can't get them to turn back on. It has happened 20 or more time to me. It has happened all ready on very dark roads in the country, on the highway other times, I was even pulled over from a police officer before telling me to put my lights on and I showed them they were on but weren't working again. But were working when I left my house. Then the next day they will work again with no problem and work for months then it does it again. You never know when it will happen, I'm afraid to take it out when it's dark out. But it's my only car and sometimes I have no choice but to go out at night and pray it won't happen again, it's very dangerous and a safety issue, and I have seen a lot of complaints for the same thing with other people as well so it's not just my van doing this. Something needs to be done before someone get seriously hurt or dies from this defect and the company ends up getting sued for not fixing this problem. If it was just my van doing it then I would think it was just a fluke thing, but when I have read it has happened to many other owners of the same kind of van then it is a defect that needs to be addressed and fixed before something awful happens to someone. And from what I have read some people said they were told it was something to do with the tipm which costs about $1200 or so to fix. Some people said they fixed that and it still continued to happen...I don't have $1200 to replace the tipm and the problem still doesn't get fixed or solve the problem...ripoff having your headlights stop working on you on a dark road at night is not safe at all and is very dangerous.

Bought this as a used vehicle from safeway Chevrolet in burgaw nc. Had 61,000 miles. Randomly the headlights will not work, or they come on then immediately go off...even if you pull the lever to make high beam come on, they come one and go right back off while the lever is still pulled. No other lights seem to be affected happens day or night. Happens whether the switch is set to automatic or to on. Have taken it to dealer, shows no codes..... have taken it while the headlights were not working.... unable to fix.... this is very dangerous, as it happens suddenly at night. Had it not been for the vehicle having fog lights, it could have resulted in a crash, or worse......

Soon after purchasing the minivan, the headlights began to cut out intermittently. At first, it was only during the summer when the weather was very warm and humid. In addition, we found that if we started the minivan and lights worked they would stay on throughout our drive but that soon changed...the lights cut out on us one night after driving for about a half an hour. This was extremely dangerous because we were on the highway and it was very dark. We tried to bring this issue up to our dealership and they claimed that our car did not have this problem. Now, our minivan lights do not work at all...they flicker or flash three times like they are trying to come on but never actually turn on. This has happened many times!

When our Town and country was driven at night the head lights shut off. They would turn on for a few seconds then would turn off and stay off. Even if the car is restarted or the lights turned off and back on, they stayed off.

Headlights went out while driving. First during daylight; then at night while driving home. Dangerous and scary. Next days, the lights would work and then not work. Took van to dealership. Diagnosed as a faulty tipm that would cost $1275 to replace. What is sooo galling is reading about many, many, many, many other car owners who have had also been told to replace the tipm in a variety of Chrysler vehicles. Many of these stories are hair raising in the descriptions of danger--cars suddenly stopping on the highway, light going out on dark nights, wipers going nuts or quitting; horns blaring; terrified parents and children. Why no recall"??? is Chrysler waiting until people are killed?" sad, sad commentary on this american product. I feel violated and unprotected as a consumer. It is troubling to be told we need to pay $1275 for a part that has been complained about to Chrysler for years and feel relieved that we weren't in a terrible car crash. Something is so not right here.

Dash lights on instrument panel/cluster are not working. Can not see how fast I am going unless I hold a light to the panel. Took it to the dealer for diagnosis. Instructed that the instrument panel needed replaced. Part at the dealership is $500 plus 3 hours of labor. Vehicle can be in motion and stationary and I still have no dash lights.

Headlights failed while on a drive in the country, at night, on a windy, mountainous road. Problem was traced to a faulty tipm at fairly low mileage. Very dangerous! my family was in the car, and we could've all been killed.

We were driving at night on 8/13/2016 and the headlights shut off while the vehicle was in motion. They then began to flicker. We thought maybe if we switched on the high beams, the lights would work, but they did not. Turning the van off and on again did not work. This has happened two separate times, with the second time being more severe because the lights would not even flicker. The first time it happened, we were in motion on a residential street, about to turn into our driveway. The second time it happened on 8/17/2016, I was driving on curvy farm to market roads. Additionally, the first time, one light would turn on and the other would stay off at random moments - without touching switches. I have found that prior years' models had this issue, as well, but because mine is a 2010, Chrysler says mine is A-ok and they are not including mine in the recall. I did not feel A-ok the other night while I was driving home in the dark with only my hazards guiding my way.

While driving at night on a four lane street, with no warning, both headlights went out. The brights did not work either. Turned the switch off & on, nothing. Turned car off for 10 minutes then back on, but headlights would not come back on. Had to drive home in the dark, and of course I got pulled over by the police! thankfully only received a warning! for the last 2 weeks the headlights & brights are working intermittently, no rhyme or reason as to when they'll work or not. They will work and then just go out while we're driving; or sometimes they won't switch on at all. Never know when it'll happen again! fuse & relays are fine. Very dangerous!

While pulling out of a parking lot, with my foot on the brake, the vehicle began accelerating. This only lasted a brief second, but the vehicle jerked forward and drove over a parking block and off the curb. Soon thereafter, I began having issues with the headlights. I would turn the light switch to on. The lights flickered for a second, then shut off. I would toggle the light switch and would eventually would get the headlights to turn on. This issue became progressively worse to the point where they would shut off while I was driving. Needless to say, this presented a safety issue. Thankfully, I live only 10 minutes from where I work, and use the fog lights on well lit roadways to get back and forth, but obviously cannot drive the vehicle for long distances or on major highways and interstates during night time hours. While this issue got worse, the radio in the vehicle would unexplainable shut down. When this happens, I hear a sound like wires short circuiting from somewhere inside the dash. The same time the radio goes out, I noticed that the air conditioning, power windows, and door locks would also lose power. After researching all these issues through the internet and Chrysler forums, it seems the logical issue would be the T.I.P.M. ( total integrated power module). I am having the vehicle looked at in the next few days. My only concern is all the complaints regarding this module on Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, and no safety recall had been issued. Thus is clearly a safety concern and should be addressed in a class action law suit.
