Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The blind spot detection system stopped working. Upon further investigation, it was determined that both sensors in the rear quarter panels and 1 plug need to be replaced. The right rear sensor was completed corroded through and separated apart. The plug for this sensor is also melted from the corrosion. The left rear sensor has a large bulge in the plastic from over heating. I contacted the dealer and was told that this is a known problem but there is no recall. The estimate over the phone was $3,000

Blind spot detection system failure. The system had failed 8 months ago and needed a corroded blind spot sensor ($1200) replaced. The system failed again after 5 months. I just turned it off to avoid the constant warning chimes. Last week while driving smoke appeared in the rear of the vehicle. I stopped and opened the tailgate to clear the smoke. The info center warned that the rear parking assist system had failed, and the rear back up camera also no longer worked. The dealer says both blind spot sensors and the rear wire harness need to be replaced. This is a very expensive repair for a 4 year old vehicle.

In August 2014 and again in January 2015 I received letters from Chrysler concerning a recall for the rear quarter vent window switch. I've checked regularly with my dealer who keeps telling me the parts are on back order. As this is a potential fire hazard I am greatly concerned it is taking so long to resolve

We were notified in Dec., 2014 of a recall on some Chrysler Town and country vehicles as the rear quarter vent window switch may overheat if exposed to liquid moisture. We took the vehicle in and they did not have the part so without our knowledge disconnected the switch. Hence our rear vents have not been operational for almost 6 months. Dealer claims they are not receiving the parts to perform the repair. We had no problems prior to the switch being deactivated. Last encounter with the dealer was April 2015. Still no parts.
