Avenger 4-cyl

  • 49,310 miles
Yesterday makes two times that my car has accelerated on it's on. The first time this happened was about 2 months ago. I was merging onto the interstate and accelerated but when I lifted my foot, the accelerator continued to speed up. On this occasion, I thought it was just something that I may have done but it happened again yesterday. I was on my way to work, approached a traffic light and when I approached the light, it turned yellow. Because I was already going through the light as it turned, I pressed the accelerator to get through the light but once I was successful and took my foot off the accelerator, it continued to speed up. On both occasions, I tried with my foot to get it unstuck but I wasn't successful for about 1/10 of a mile. This tells me that something is not right. I am trying not to drive it to much but still I have to go to work.
