I was driving down the interstate when my cel light came on. I barely made it to the side of the road O investigate it. My car would not run, and I had to get towed home...... turns out the my upper radiator hose was broken where the fitting goes into the hose. After trying to find the fitting I was told I had to buy the entire assembly. Confused as to why I had to buy the entire assembly I looked at the new part and it had been redesigned where the fitting is now held on by a more permanent heat-shrink looking tube instead of hose clamps. Well, seeing that the upper radiator hose is a very important part of the radiator I was also a little confused as too why you would want consumers to have to spend $100 for just the part, if they are lucky enough to be parked and find it, but if they are unlucky like myself then they also receive a tow bill on top of that. Seems to me that it is an ongoing problem because it has already been rediesigned. I believe that this should be under recall because if/when the fitting decides to break not only did my car cut off but there is a big likleyhood that it could lock up or even damage your water pump, engine, etc.
Vehicle shuts off while driving steering locks brakes lock this vehicle has 5 recalls but VIN only reports two recalls this is dangerous I drive highway to and from work please help
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the vehicle was at a stand still at a traffic light, when depressing on the accelerator pedal and the vehicle hesitated. The contact stated the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he continued driving however, continued to experience the failure. The vehicle was taken to local dealer South Chicago Dodge Chrysler Jeep located at 7340 S. western ave, Chicago, il 60636, (773) 476-7800, where it was diagnosed with needing throttle body assembly to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.
When the electronic stability control malfunction indicator light comes on, my car starts shaking violently, not responding as quickly to pressing gas pedal, jerking, slow acceleration, bogging down when I reach 50 and the feeling of my brakes applying themselves my room gauge sometimes rocks back and forth before and after the gear shift...a weird smell and heat coming from under the car even tho it's not reading a higher temp... I've changed the cps twice and the code will not clear... P0340...this happens all the time but it's random and happens even while I'm driving...or when the car is running for a few minutes in park...random...while the episode is happening sometimes I hear this fast paced tapping and "movement" behind my dash & steering wheel...I've tried everything I can to solve this problem and now I find out my car has recalls...my car dealership never informed me it was on a recall list...please help before something bad happens as I'm driving...I feel like this issue could potentially cause my car to shut down or something could blow up...I just don't know what else to do and I don't want to accidentally hurt someone or myself if I potentially lose control of the vehicle or the brakes completely stop me without me applying them & I wreck or stall going down the highway or interstate... very concerned and worried about what to do next...when this isn't happening to the car it behaves & drives perfect...it seems possessed or is having a seizure
I was driving on the highway at about 55 mph then suddenly my car stalled. My car shut completely off. I saw that there was a recall for this but it was for the smaller engine which does not include my engine. I just took my car to the dealer and he said their was an oil pressure problem which caused the oil housing to leak.
Oil is pooling under the oil filter/oil cooler assembly. I understand from other owners online (youtube, Avenger forum) that this is a common problem. For oil to leak from the cooler whose seals may be bad. Additionally, I have what sounds like a rocker arm (at least one) that is worn, probably from the lack of sufficient oil due to this leak. I discovered the pooling with the car parked, engine idling, and trying to find the clacking/tacking/tipping noise which feels (vibrations) like it might be in the left bank of the V6 engine. Both problems reported as typical online as noted for the pentastar 3.6L V6 which I have. Tapping has been going on since March 2020 at least. I did a second oil change (previous in February) to determine if that would help. No.
A couple years after I got my car it would shut down when I would come to stop signs and no mechanics could tell me why. No lights ever came on. It had shut down on the freeway before and let the power slowly die down until the car turned off. That time the car actually had a light when I tried turning it back on. I essentially have had to replace my transmission and engine within a year. The car would overheat at times but no lights would go off so I just could let the car cool down and let the overheating stop. Fast forward to replacing the engine and transmission and my car is now idling high even without the gas being touched. On the freeway it will go to as high as 4000rpms now and it feels like the car is going to stop working again. Also the door blend actuators and other actuators have been making noise for about 4 years. My air line has no leaks and is cold but the air that comes out of my vents is almost warm feeling.
My car doesn't start after every 8 hours. I had a 'draws' test administrated on my vehicle but no one can tell me why this is happening. I drive around with a jumper box to start my car when needed. For the last 3 years I have replace my alternator twice and 4 batteries. Please help
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 mph, the heater was activated however, the passenger side vents only produced cold air. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or a local mechanic for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while their son was driving approximately 35 mph in the rain, when he attempted to turn the heater on and defrost the windows, the system failed. The contact contacted aaa who recommended a certified mechanic. The contact took the vehicle to the certified mechanic who diagnosed that the heater's chord was blocked with sand that leaked from the engine block. The vehicle was repaired, however, the failure occurred again. The vehicle was repaired a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
The issue occurs mostly while the vehicle is in motion, but occasionally when it is sitting still and idling. While driving, the car engine will suddenly stall. No warning lights or check engine lights turn on. No codes are found when scanning the obd2. There are no recorded miss fires for any of the cylinders either. This is an especially dangerous situation specifically when driving full speed on major highways or roads. When the engine stalls, power steering cuts out and I have to muscle the car off to the side of the road to put the car in park and start it up again. The engine has stalled while going in reverse, driving forward, and sitting idle. This has happened over a dozen times now.
Twice now I've had to have my heater core replaced as the passenger blows cold air when it should be heat just like the drivers side. This is a known issue by Dodge abd they won't fix the problem or even assist with it.

The vehicle was taken to the quigley motors dealer (610-367-2191, located at 565 route 100 N, boyertown, pa 19512) where the technician diagnosed and replaced the heater core. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

Engine has completely stalled at low speeds without any lights or warning. This has happened on 3 separate occasions. Car will not restart but if it sits for an hour or so it starts back up. No codes present.
While driving at hwy. Speed vehicle surged but no warning lights, etc. Next time started, warning lights came on indicating a P2173 code.car was just at Dodge dealer for recalls. Car will idle fine for a couple of minutes then start surging, idling rough with no power and set warning lights, mil, etc, ESC. These will go off when vehicle is turned off except for check engine light. We have replaced throttle body with no change. Cleared code and came back and did the same. Very disappointed that Dodge has not addressed this issue. It is not safe.
