I love my car but it's crazy for me to keep having this same problem with the gear staying in the park mode and can not make it go to the drive mode. When it locks up in the park mode, and you can't put it in neutral or do anything so your car can be push out of the drive through window at a public place, it irritates you and the business place since you are blocking his drive through window and causing him to loose business.

Instead of a plastic shifter assembly that cracks or breaks and swell as the auto tech told me that this is what happens,, why not have a metal shifter assembly.

Today is July 17,2013 and I have to pay to get it fix again. This money came out of my pocket. I purchase this car on July 18, 2010. The same problem occurred on September 1, 2011. It does not make sense for the repair to last for one year and 10 1/2 months.

The great shifter is stuck in park but is reads as it's in neutral. to replace the plastic clips that CRUMBLED i have to order a whole new shift cable because they dont sell the pieces separately. Its a dealer only product so i have to wait and by the looks of the clip, it should be a recall because the plastic is so old and my car is 2008 and i dont see how they can get away with putting crappy parts in a fairly new car which was purchased brand new in 2008.
