Over the last 3 to 4 years the top of both front spring towers have rusted out to the extent that the security 0f the top of the strut is seriously compromised- the only way I can see to fix this is to remove the strut and weld a large plate over the whole top of the strut tower. this is a big job - what a piece of sh*t the construction is in this area!!

I est the cost to do the repair my self to be one to two full days to construct and install

I think the repair would be prohibitive of done in a shop! I will add pix's to this later

Update from May 1, 2009: CALLED DODGE SERVICE - THEY HAVE A REPAIR PATCH FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM- IT CONSISTS OF A THICK METAL PLATE SPLIT INTO TWO PIECES TO FIT AROUND THE TOP OF THE TOWER HOLE(where the top of strut comes thu) THE 3 STRUT HOLDER BOLTS IN THE TOP OF THE STRUT TOWER COME THRU THIS SPLIT PLATE - ONCE PLATE IS BOLTED ON AROUND TOP THE EDGES ARE WELDED TO THE TOPOF THE STRUT TOWER. KIT FOR EACH TOWER IS ABOUT 48.00 CDN.
