Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

┐I have a 2006 Grand Caravan SXT. I have previously owned 2 Grand Caravan and 1 town and country. The rear right side door lock does not go up or down unless I manually pull it up or down.. the door does ┐click┐ when I hit the key remote or overhead button, but the door will not open. If I pull the door the knob up manually, the key remote or overhead will allow the door to open and close. I went on the internet and the repair forum indicated that hundreds of the same situation existed with the Grand Caravan. No recall existed, but this certainly should have been with this safety malfunction. I was advised to remove the oid fuse and remove the battery cable. While this worked in a majority of cases, it did not work for me. I called Chrysler and was told that it could be the BCM or door lock actuator or door harness. If the ┐harness┐ was broken would the door be able to close or open? I was also advised that this could cost between $80 and $500. Seems like a large 'spread of cost┐ to me. Certainly not acceptable because you know as well as I do that if they find it to be a fuse, they┐ll charge the top price for repair. I have had experience with dealers before┐.

Sliding power doors and locks not working on 2006 Dodge Caravan. Power door drive mechanism causes door to become heavy or impossible to operate manually. Doors will work electronically as normal. Door lock actuator not working. Will not lock with key fob or door switch must be operated manually. Will not lock automatically at 15 mph with other doors. Dealer replaced door motors 2 times. Door lock mechanism not replaced yet. Defective opener motors not allowing manual use could cause entrapment. Door lock not activating automatically could also pose entrapment risk.

In trying to close door using either push button/remote/visor button door will clunk and door motor runs for 2~3 seconds and door does not move. Dealer has replaced door motors twice... I think this is becoming close to being a lemon ! that was one of the buying points of this model was electric doors :((((( been very dissatisfied thus far.

On my 2006 Dodge Caravan, the side power door locks do not work. I have spoken to other owners and they have had the same problem. The problem happens after the warranty period expires. The locks operate occasionally..sometimes they would work, and sometimes not. I realized it wasn't working when my child tried to open the door before we left the driveway, and all the doors should have been locked. This is a potential serious safety issue.
