Charger SE 2.7L V6

I own a 2008 Dodge Charger. Last year the ignition while driving turned itself off ... thank God I was only going about 15-20mph approaching a red light. The motor turned itself off, resulting with no power steering or power brakes. About 2-3 weeks later the same thing happened with my family in the car! Again I was only going about 25mph. Driving threw my neighborhood. Thank God I wasn't driving faster.

I've contacted the dealer where my car was bought from they told me there were no parts available yet to fix the problem, that was last year. I talked to them 2-3 different times last year and still no parts to fix the problem. I received a recall notice last year called Chrysler about the issue and they told me there were no parts at that time to fix my car!!! I've contacted Dodge at least 3 times this year still no parts!!!!

Since then my ignition will not let me start the car, so I cant even drive it any more!!!! So its been sitting in front of my house for about 2-3 months. THIS PISSES ME OFF EVERY DAY I CAN'T DRIVE IT!!!! I have to find a ride to and from work every day! and that sucks..... nothing like owning a 30,000 dollar car that you can't drive because Dodge doesn't have parts to fix it. I can't even trade it in on a new vehicle because of these issues!!!

DODGE CHRYSLER YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS EVER BUY A DODGE CHRYSLER VEHICLE!!!!!! And if by chance my car does start one day and I get into an accident because of these issues I will be owning that company!!! SHAME ON YOU DODGE CHRYSLER FOR PUTTING MY FAMILY AT SERIOUS RISK FOR OWNING THIS CAR!!!!!!!

F YOUR COMPANY!!!!

Charger SE 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,391 miles

Just like always. I made the final payment on my 2008 Charger last August 2014. Maybe sometime in June or July I noticed slight delays after turning the ignition key before the engine would crank and start, but it did start and run OK. Never thought too much about it until August 12 when I was stranded at a medical facility because the car just would not start-no clicking or noise at all. Called my dad for help and he thought maybe the battery just plain dead so a new battery purchased and installed. The start problem seemed to have been fixed then. But the delay problems began occurring again in September and during week of October 19 the start delay became up to 7-8 seconds.

I took the car to a local repair facility and they replaced the TIPM at cost of $699.72. They said they first swapped the start relay on the TIPM with the parking lamp relay since relays were same part but start delay stayed same so reason for changing the TIPM.

I just cannot believe that something as simple as the starting system has to depend on a very costly module before it will work, even if this is the digital age and cars have to be computerized. Can an auto engineer explain that to me?

I'm on disability for medical problems and this costly repair is the last thing I needed.

Charger ES 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,081 miles

Car randomly began to shut off right after starting or sometimes while driving. It got to the point where it shut off and it wouldn’t start again. I towed it to the dealership and they advised me that I need to replace ignition module and key fob also need to reprogram. The total came up to $ 696.18. Two years went by and it was working ok until one day again, randomly began to shut off right after starting or sometimes while driving. Is this issue related to the Chrysler ignition recall? I would like to know because I am not spending another price now $ 800+ on a new module and fob.
