What options are available. Parts are not currently available to fix my driver's side airbag recall problem. My local dealer does not know when parts will become available. Spoke with truck company they have no idea either. Ask for an interim solution - they don't have one except don't drive the truck or go about your business as usual and wait for parts availability. Can I get a rental truck at the mfg. Expense until the parts are available and my truck if fixed?

When involved in a accident the air bags failed to deploy. While driving down the road at night came across a cow in the road. When I noticed it was to late to slow down or move out of the way, when approached at 65 mph. Hit the cow, straight on in the middle of the front grill, when came to a stop, the hood was buckled grill and metal guard along with radiator and all of the front buckled in about 1 and a half feet pushed in, during im pact the airbags failed. I hit my knee on the dash hurt my shoulder and sternum. Doctors were amazed that my injury were not more. I really think the airbags should have deployed. I have photos of what the truck looks like now.

The airbag warning light had always been on the dash and when the airbags were recalled I had them replaced. The light was out approximately 2 weeks, then came back on. Took it back to airport Dodge and when the service manager got in the truck, there was no light on the dash. We finally figured out it was the difference in weight, me at 115#, he at 200#. he tells me it's a customer pay issue, I have a defective sensor. If I have a defective sensor, then there are a bunch of big men running around with defective sensors that don't know anything about it.

From about November 2010 until I delivered the truck to thornton road Chrysler Dodge to install recall P40, the airbag off and seat belt warnings, with or without a passenger, chimed and the warning lights lit up. Thornton road Chrysler installed recall P40 and recalibrated front seat sensors. After I left the dealer, before I was 100 yards from the parking lot, the warning chime and lights came on and they have not gone out since. I am too angry to call the dealer.
