Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.

For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.

For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

While driving home from work after approx a 50 mile stretch of continuous highway driving (~60-70 mph) I had to merge onto another highway but first came to a complete stop to wait for a green to make my left turn. As I slowed down after applying normal brake pressure my wheels locked and I slid toward the stop line. I noticed smoke coming from the side wheel well. A few months later I was driving approx a 2 hour drive and noticed a burning smell again. Sometimes I come to a stop after similar driving similar distances and get the same smell again. Have received notice 15V-800 regarding brake booster contamination but no follow up as of yet.
