Durango LX 5.9L
Going to a major shopping center in this area and driving at 110/km an hour on a divided hwy, I noticed a smell, followed by smoke and then some grinding as I was about to stop. Came out side and looked under the engine and noticed a big ball of fire. Yelled at the family members to get out quickly and as for away as possible, while I was throwing snow under the engine. Stupid as one can get, I reached to unlock the hood as I wanted to lift it and see where the fire is. Called the fire department and took more than an hour to extinguish the fire by the fire department. Lucky that gas lines did not leak as I had my tank filled about 2o minutes before. We all are thankful that all are safe and a wonderful friend John Shamas and his wife Denise stayed with us till problem was solved and Durango towed to the nearest dealer. John and Denise too us to the car rental comapny "National" before we parted our way. A big thank you to them both and to the Sudbury fire depart to save our lives.
