This is the second year for lukewarm air coming from heater. Last year I changed t-stat and add new coolant ,also new radiator cap. It helped a little but not enough. Took it to a mech. and had it flushed ,that seemed to help alot but not as hot as it used to be .This year I smell anti-freeze slightly in the car but no wet spot on passenger floor? Any guess would be helpful .I need to fix myself as I am laid off right now. Merry Christmas.

Dealer wanted over $1000 to replaced heater core. Family member did work at a total cost of about $400 (including labor). Replaced heater core, thermostat and is only marginally better. Still blows cold air at idle but a bit better when under way. Temperature gauge is slightly below normal. Any solutions? Car runs great. Want to keep it.
