One morning going to work I noticed a noise, took it in to my local Dodge dearlership and they told me that the pinion bearings needed to be replaced, the cost is 794.25. I asked why is this happening the guy didn't have a good explanation, I feel really cheated and that my money went down the drain.

about 3 weeks ago when turning there were clicking noises from the rear end and a loud clunk when starting out from a stop. took it in to the dealership they said it was the differential. they rebuilt the diff for 50 deductable. then i took it out over night and brought it back the next day with the same problem. they figured they didnt put enough fluid in the case so they put another bottle or so in. i went north for the weekend with it. brought it back again on tuesday 2 weeks ago with the same problem. they gave me a rental for $8 a day since im under 25. but now its been in there for 2 weeks and they said they had to order new parts over last weekend and it should be done yesterday. since they didnt call i guess its still not done. they said it was because of a tire was new since i had a blow out when passing another car but i got 4 new tires last wednesday and the tires didnt fix it. they said they needed to replace the transfer case also. and all this from driving a ford explorer for 2 years replacing ball joints every 10000 miles and the transmission blew out on also the cv joints have gone out atleast 2 times a year. it seems like i moved from a lemon to a lemon but since they are used they are not coverd under the lemon law.

At 24,000 mi. my vehicle developed an annoying loud thumping at equal intervals when backing up, turning or pulling forward at speeds below 10MPH. After numerous trips to the dealership (30 mi. away) my vehicle finally "performed" its problem for the technician.....who "corrected" the problem by putting an additive in the differential case! Now at 29426 Mi. the problem is again evident. The dealerships quick-fix-----"bring it in and we'll have our man listen to it". (He has already heard it...") "Sorry, we won't have a loaner car available until the middle of JULY!!!!!" Is there another Durango 4X4 out there with the same problem???

Rear end started whining. took to dodge dealer to check. Head Mechanic doubted would make it 90 miles home. Shop had 2 wk. back log, so they sent me to a Ford shop, same owner to get repaired. Two weeks later and three trips to pick up. Shop foreman stated bolts were over torqued. Ran way better after repair
