(reported on)Durango SLT 5.9 V8
- Automatic transmission
- 72,000 miles
I bought my Durango with 60,000 miles on it and i loved the 5.9 liter engine it really hauls ass. I had no problems until it hit 72000 miles. Now when the transmission is cold it doesn't want to shift from third to fourth gear. First and second are fine. After tha,t the motor will wind out to five grand if you let it after taking my foot off the gas the tranny disengages but never fully shifts. Then i get pissed off and mash the gas pedal and the engine shoots up 1500 rpm locks into second gear and damn near burns off the tires. this goes on until the transmission warms up and i get it to shift into third by using the column. i sure hope that it's a simple presser adjustment or a throttle valve and not another piece of shit dodge car.....

Durango SLT 5.2L V8
My vehicle has a problem going from 3 to 4 gear, sometimes 2nd to 3rd. Today on the freeway it tacked up to 5 grand. On surface streets it will go up to about 3.5 grand then shift and go down to about 1.5. 5 grand is way to high for a V-8 to run and my Gas milage is on average 12.5 MPG. I was wondering if this is a Throttle Valve cable problem. Also I noticed some bubbles on the Transmission dip stick today that I had not seen before.
