Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

2006 Dodge Durango engine shuts off without warning while driving. My Durango shut off twice in the middle of intersections during turns. It doesn't matter if it is left or right turn. It shuts off after stopping at stop sign and then beginning to accelerate. The Dodge dealer can not find a reason for complete engine stall. The dealer has flashed the PCM. The engine stalled next day after flashing the PCM. When engine stalls there is complete loss of steering. In one year of ownership there has been five engine shut offs. In effort to fix dealer charged me for complete fuel system cleaning which was not needed. A throttle body service which was not needed. This is a problem that also belonged to the 2004/2005 Durango and is still present in the 2006 Durango. The flash to the PCM does not work.

I've had problems with this vehicle since I bought it. Somedays the truck won't crank, check engine light goes on and off took it so salisbury Dodge kept my vehicle for 4 days gave it back to me said they couldn't find anything wrong with it said they turned the light off for me 2 weeks later same problem like truck not getting gas, truck just cut off on me and my family while driving down the highway. Took it to dealership where bought kept vehicle for almost 2 weeks catalytic converter was bad every since they gave me vehicle back which has been about 2 months still having problems radio turns by itself hit bump the truck turned off almost got rear ended trying to pull to shoulder, check engine light goes on and off, every time I call the dealership to get appt they say they can't give me one I just need to drop the truck off and they will get to it when they can, so what do I suppose to do until they can see what's going on I can't afford to pay for a rental they don't want to assist me with that. I'm really scared for my family safety I'm still having problems with the steering sometimes when I make a turn it doesn't turn correctly it's scary I really need some assistant.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. The contact took her vehicle to be repaired under recall # 9378792861. After the repair was performed, the contact stated that the vehicle began to stall. The dealer has had the vehicle since June 21, 2007 and has been unable to determine the cause of failure. The dealer performed a diagnostic, which caused them to place 50 miles per day on the vehicle in an attempt to locate the cause of failure. The dealer even asked if one of the technicians could take the vehicle home. The recall number that was provided could not be located. The current and failure mileages were 7,000.
