Fan would not blow on low or medium and on Monday it stopped blowing on high and shorted the fuse panel and melted 2 fuses. I have replaced the switch several times and it never fixed the problem.

basically took the dash board apart, took the blower motor out. Wired it to the heater and found out it worked, so I put it back together now thinking about replacing the switch but after reading the other comments am thinking twice about it.

After we checked the fuse, which was good, I pulled the blower motor out of the dash and we hooked up wires to the battery and tested the motor - it's good. I wired the motor back into the dash. We have factory repair manuals for the car, but the book shows no relays. The only other component that I can see that might be the problem is the ac/heater control unit that has the blower motor switch mounted. I could not buy the switch separately, and to save money, I bought a control unit from a salvage yard, but that didn't fix the problem. The car is not worth buying expensive new parts for, but we sure do need the blower to work so my man can drive to and from work with the ac.
