So you get in the car, it starts up, you go to work, and when you leave you turn the key and nothing... Sometimes we slam the sliding door and our instrument panel comes alive and it starts up and we drive home. Other times it sits for days and then it will run right for a while and then it acts up again.

Ever since I bought this van I have been sticking money into it. When it would not start on the first try last month I went out and bought a new battery. It started on the first try for a week. Now it takes me at least 4 times to get it started. I spent $135.00 on the battery and now it is something else. I am so mad because I have a lot of doctors appointments to be at and I don't ever know if this van is going to start or if I am going to be stranded somewhere. The starter is over a $100.00 dollars and the alternator is $97.00 plus a core charge. How do they expect you to afford to buy the parts for this problem. I don't know what to fix to make this problem go away. If someone knows please make a comment.

We could not get the ignition key to start the car and were stranded for hours, not wanting to pay for a tow truck. Had to call a tow truck anyway and when he arrived he took a stapler and banged on the key towards the steering wheel. Then the key turned and started the vehicle. I immediately took the van to the dealership and they installed a new aftermarket ignition switch. A week later it did the same thing again but I decided to bang on it to get it to work. I asked several mechanics and two said I should have had both parts to the ignition switch replaced at the same time. After a lot of continual banging, it finally started to work again if we turned it just right.

Car had been running fine all day but after stopping at the grocery it would not start. Battery tested good. Headlights come on, interior lights come on. Radio will not come on, power windows will not work, dash lights will not work, door chime does not work when key is in ignition. Car will not even turn over.
