Passenger side sliding door will not open or close under power. The latch will pop open but then the door will not open. This happens when the temp is below 40. Took it to the dealer in December and the temp was 50 worked great, as soon as the temp dropped again it quit working. It started at the end of last winter, but we thought it was a fluke since it works when it gets warm.

Within the past month this occurred 3 times.
the electrical went out on the sliding door,
windshield wipers would not work
inside dash lighting was out
and the electric sliding door and electric lock would not work.
Each time it re-set itself and everything was fine.

I also just had to get a new battery 3 weeks ago.

I went to auto zone today and they checked the code for electronic failure. They said there is definitely a short somewhere and I should go to the Dodge dealer to have it fixed.

Is this sound advice?
thanks

Van was only two years old. Dealer wanted to replace the control module under the dash at a cost of over $500. Since the van had more than 36K miles it was not covered under warranty. I just don't understand the correlation's between driving miles and the door locks not working.

The problem comes and goes. One minute it will work and the next minute it wont open using the key fob or the over head console button. I believe this is a product of a larger problem. Today my blinkers stopped working for a short time too. When I lock the doors the horn honks even if I only push the button once (it use to take two pushes to make it honk).

I replaced the battery and now my yellow check engine light has come out too. I'm about ready to give up on this thing.

Other sites have documented this problem fairly well. Wire in harness below door breaks from flexing. Typical dealer repair $200, Can be repaired by handy man at home.
