Yet another problem with the doors. On BOTH sides, the inside buttons no longer work. Door can be opened by key fob, by the driver console, and of course manually.

Passenger side sliding door will not lock/unlock w/fob. Dealer says it is the door latch and wants over $800 to fix. Again, the dealer says the door is not covered under warranty when the mileage is over 36K. Problem occurred last year but I only took it in recently for a check engine light problem.

At first this was a great van. It's stow and go, really handy. But within the first few thousand kilometres, I started noticing electrical problems. The front headlights would suddenly go off when parked with the engine still running (reflection in store window told me this.) Restarting the vehicle would rectify the problem, then it would start again. Happened on a few separate occasions. Then the power driver side window would go down, but not back up. Happened a few times. Finally resolved. Random dashboard lights would be out; still haven't been fixed. Had to replace left rear turn signal lamp (now on my third, with vehicle 42,000 k. now - haven't had to replace a single lamp on the right). Biggest complaint is sliding side door on left hand side, though. Won't open or close using either button, key fob doesn't work either, it only works by opening and closing manually. As well, it's clearly a power issue, because when you have the side door open but no other door, the lights will dim and go out. A pain in a dark parking garage, for sure. After several trips to the dealership, they finally determined it needs a part. I'm not sure which part and it's back-ordered, which suggests other people have this problem as well. And although no one else on your site noted a problem with a 2006 Grand Caravan like that, I did note that someone with a 2007 had a similar-sounding problem, and I got my vehicle at the very end of the model year. If I find out what part it needed and see if it resolves the situation, I will re-post. And again, worth noting, ALL of these problems have been on the left hand side of the vehicle. No problems on right hand side at all.

This is the second or third time one of our sliding doors did not function properly. If you use the automatic button in the front the left sliding door only opens a little bit but the automatic button by the sliding door does not work at all. Of course all the problems we are having with our minivan is after the warranty ran out!
