About 11/30 I went to start the car in the morning., the front windshield wipers were on when I turned the key, and would not change speed or turn off as much as I tried the back and they would not turn on. The radio/ clock did work but no lighted information and same with the speedometer, the gas tank, temperature warning and tachometer lighting. The car started, and restarted several time well enough but the dashboard lights and the wipers did not change. I tried turning the key on and off without starting the car a number of times with different number of tries before restarting as a possible resetting with no change. Eventhough it had no working speedomater I drove the car first around the block several times and then to my local mechanec. I talked to him he did not have the correct equipment for testing required to find the problem. He suggested I go to the dealer and 1) see if they had any recall or unpublished issued repair notices etc 2) get an estimate of the possible costs and times for repair. I thanked him and was in my car again within 15 minutes and the total problems went away, front wipers off and all the dashboard lights worked. The car worked for 4 more trips over the next few days. On Dec 3rd 2020, I started the car just fine went on the express way for the first time for a about 35 minutes trip. About 8 minutes into the expressway drive the dashboard lights went out and the wiper went on for about 1.5 minutes, but before I could exit the expressway they went back on and I could turn off the wipers, a few minutes they went out again and just as suddenly in 2 minutes they were working again. There was a third time before my exit that lasted only about 1 minute. When I got off at the usual exit I parked & tried to see the problem again for nearly 20 minutes with no luck, I continued the trip and it was uneventful as drive back & since no problem.

It started with my vehicle not starting intermittently. As the problem got worse at first we thought it may be the fuel pump. After extensive searching it was revealed to be a faulty tipm module that causes issues with the fuel system. I contacted Dodge and they validated that they are aware of the problem. There has been recalls listed for most vehicles with this same module, however not for the Dodge Grand Caravan, I do not understand why. The issue has now escalated. While driving in the pitch dark to work the vehicle started acting funny, then all power shut off, steering locked, fob locked in ignition, no lights, no blinkers, right in the middle of the road while driving. I had just dropped off my son so glad he wasn't with me. It seems the problem all goes back to the tipm which has been draining my battery and causing other electrical issues. This is a safety hazard. I contacted Dodge and they refuse to do anything to help because my vehicle is "outside the warranty". I explained how this problem doesn't even start until approx. 70,000 miles(I'm currently at 60,000). Beyond that the warrant Y was expired when I purchased it used from the Dodge dealer 3 years ago. I've contacted Dodge numerous times and no one of any stature will even talk to me since the caseworker called the case "closed" based on the warranty. I think this is immoral on the part of Dodge being that this has been a persistent problem with theses modules that goes as far back as 2010, yet they continued to use it. I purchased this vehicle so my wife can move my child around safely, and am scared to even let her drive it. At the moment no one is driving it because it died on the road and smells like the electrical system was burning. I am currently looking for a way to fix this issue. The estimated cost of repair is around $2,000.

There is a faulty tipm in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. This causes my vehicle to stall in the middle of the road or not start when I am away from home. We have been stuck blocking traffic on the middle of a busy highway multiple times due to a fuel pump relay that stops working and disrupts gas flow to the engine. Currently my car is disabled due to this tipm. Diesel Dodge vehicles are unsafe due to the disruption in the power module that supplies every system in the car with power to keep the vehicle running. As I was driving today, my air conditioner stopped, all lights on the dashboard lit up and I'll try am is in the car we're arranging this caused me to turn and go home immediately so I would not get stuck in the middle of the highway. Once I got home I was on able to start my vehicle and it currently has no power at all

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan had a faulty tipm and is a known problem costing well over $1500 at Dodge to get a new tipm. This effects the stability control module, the transmission electronic shifting, the brake lights and the air conditioning just to name a few issues. We have reached out to Dodge and they will not cover it.

Started van one morning and left running to warm up, came back outside and it had died. The wipers were mid-windshield. Turned the key and dash lights illuminated. The van would not start but made a ticking noise upon turning the key. 2 days later I stopped to get fuel in the van. It hesitated to start, but did start. Headlights were very dim and faded in and out. Put a code reader on the computer and it threw a low battery voltage code. Put a voltmeter on the battery and it read about 10 volts while the van was not running. While the van was running the voltmeter read about 14 volts so it is charging. Have had several instances where power windows would not work or power doors would not open and had to be manually opened.

First I was told it was the battery then it was the alternator then it was the key fob. After all these repairs the Dodge dealership says now it's the timp module. This van only has 65000 miles. I have seen hundreds of complaints about the very same issues for customers with the same type vehicles. I have also seen the lawsuit and recall for defective timp from 2013 and 2014. My vehicle is one that was listed as an addendum lawsuit that may be affected by this module. This vehicle was purchased in Florida in 2012.
