My 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan now has about 40K miles. The airbag light began going on and off if the front driver seat was adjusted. I didn't take it as it has only happened once or twice. When I mentioned it at my last oil change, I was told there would be a $125 service fee to diagnose the problem. I then discovered my extended warranty (with the dealer) would not cover the air bag diagnostics and the dealership has no interest in coming to an equitable solution even though a vehicle this new should not be having this issue in the first place. It is obviously a defect of some sort but the manufacturer, dealer and service contract insurers want nothing to do with the problem. Any suggestions welcomed!

This airbag light has been coming on for months...The passenger front window also rolls down by itself...I didn't have time to take it in to get checked. Now my car is also nearing 36000-even though it made it there very quickly-so I need to take it in. I started looking up odometer issues with Dodge Caravans and stumbled upon this information.

My car is brand new. The airbag light began lighting intermittently at mile 142, on day 3 of ownership. I took it back to the dealer on day 4, and they reset the computer. That night, the problem recurred. I called the dealer, and they set up an appointment for the following Monday, day 8 of ownership. They put me in a loaner car and kept the vehicle. They called me that night, and explained that the TIPM was faulty, and that the part is on backorder. They said that it wasn't safe to drive my car with a faulty TIPM, so they would put me in a rental car.

I have no info. yet about when a new TIPM will be in. I've also just realized that there is a class action lawsuit against Chrysler, regarding this very part. I am very concerned for my family's safety, due to the rampant malfunctioning of this part. I am worried that, even with a new one, the same problems may recur.
