ON MARCH 29, 2008 I was leaving the grocery store with my 12 year old son. About 2 miles into my 5 mile trip home i could no longer steer my car. Thankfully i was only going about 35 miles an hour and slammed on the brakes. I avoided a head on collision with another vehicle by 2 feet. After having my car towed home a mechanic came and looked at my vehicle and let me know that it would cost about 1400.00 to fix my car. One of the bolts that goes into the rack/pin steering box stripped out putting to much pressure on the other bolt causing it to snap. After googling steering problems on the web i discovered thousands of horror stories(most were not as fortunate as I) with the exact same problem. Why has dodge not recalled this vehicle and similar vehicles with this known defect? This has killed and hurt many and yet nothing has been done about this problem. Even if i fix this car i have been told this will happen again. There is a defect in the design of this steering system. I want to let everyone know about this and try and save innocent lives that need not be taken by unnecessary wrecks. PLEASE MAKE THIS ISSUE KNOWN LIVES ARE AT STAKE!
