Tire pressure sensors mounted on the valve stems on the wheels are cracking and will eventually fail causing a sudden loss of air to the tires that may lead to an accident that may cause serious injury or death.

The vehicle keeps overheating. I've added coolant. There doesn't seem to be a leakage stain in the garage or driveway. It happened yesterday after leaving the office for lunch. I barely made it home before the Journey completely shut down. I allowed the engine to cool off, added coolant, and it wouldn't restart. I took a different car back to work and was able to start the Journey upon returning home. I let it sit overnight and it started right up this morning. However, upon driving 15 minutes during lunch today, it overheats again. The red warning light appeared and the ding sounded. The Journey coasted into my office parking spot where it will stay until I leave this evening. Hopefully, after adding more coolant, I'll at least be able to make it home. I will be trading this vehicle in asap! ps. The tire pressure light is always on, irregardless the proper amount of air in the tires.

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated the tire pressure sensor gauge had broken on the vehicle. The stems on the front passenger side and the rear passenger side had also broken. The failure was caused by corrosion. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told this is a known problem with the vehicle, and that is why the 2011 was changed to a brass stem from cast aluminum. The failure was 39,000 and the current mileage was 45,000.

After raining the passenger side rear door fills with water. When I close the door I hear the water swish around inside and then I see it drain out of the bottom of the door. This is the 4th time that I have seen this happen in as many weeks. My wife has also noticed the exact same thing before I did. The door fills with water pretty much every time it rains. It seems like it is at least filling up with several cups of water. I am concerned with mold getting into the car and also the probability of an electrical short. This happens every single time it rains. In addition to the door filling with water the low tire pressure light keeps coming on and the rear left tire will slowly deflate. I have already had the tire replaced once and the same thing happened again in a matter of weeks. Outside air temperature seems to have no effect on when this occurs because it happen during the cold and when it is hot out. Usually the low tire pressure warning will come on within one week of filling the tire.

I have a 2009 Dodge Journey and the tire (while not in motion) tire went flat. Found out the sensor for the air pressure is the issue. This is a hazardous to every owner. What if this would have happen w/ other passengers in the vehicle especially my baby. This could have resulted in a horrific accident. This vehicle should be recall w/ some other alternative measures for the sensors. I understand all four tires have sensors and this can happen at any time.

My wife tried to take the cap off one of her tires to put air in her tire. As she was trying to twist the cap off, it blew off of the tire and hit her in the face. I took the tire to a shop and they said that it was the wheel sensor that the tip corroded off. They replaced the sensor on that tire and then went to check the pressure on the other tires. When they tried to take the cap off of another tire, the end of that tire sensor also snapped off. My wife's vehicle is a 2009 Dodge Journey with 34,000 miles on it. When I called the service department of the dealership where I bought the vehicle, they said that the sensor is not covered under any warranty when it breaks off at the tip like that.

I own a 2009 Dodge Journey, within the last month my wife and I have both experienced tire blowouts. The problem comes from the valve of the tire snapping off and immediate loss of air pressure. These incidents have taken place in the winter. This is a very dangerous matter that needs to be followed up. After the first incident 12/12/2010, I took vehicle to my mechanic who put a rubber valve on till I could vehicle into dealer. The second incident took place 1/13/2011. I called the Dodge dealer told him about what had happened and scheduled an appointment to have valves replaced, when I asked if they would replace other two valves I was told they would have to contact talk to Dodge. Dodge said it would pay for damage to tire this should be an immediate recall when your dealing with safety.

We purchased a used 2009 Dodge Journey with 41,000 miles on it. The low tire indicator light was on, which the dealer assured us was due to cold winter air. 10 days later a tire went flat sitting in the driveway. I changed the tire to the donut spare, took it to a tire store, and they explained that the TPMS device had broken, which had allowed the tire to deflate. They checked the other tires and 3 of the 4 tires had broken TPMS devices. The mechanic indicated they saw similar problems with lots of Dodge vehicles, especially in winter. The tire store did not have the parts they needed to fix it right then, so a regular valve stem was placed in those three tires as a temporary fix. The mechanic indicated that the TPMS devices in the other two tires were so broken that any sudden disturbance, such as a pothole, could have caused them to lose pressure very quickly, and that this was a definite safety hazard.

At 2000 miles on my 2009 Dodge Journey I started having problems with my front passenger window sticking, and brakes squeaking. Also car not shifting when taking off and when you slow down and try to speed back up. I took it in. They told me maybe sap in window and brakes fine. Three days later window acting up again. Took it in. Same reason. Cleaned and greased. This is the eight time I've taken it in. They have replaced motors, switches, tracks, seals and now wont roll up or down. The brakes have been an issue since the start. At 21000 miles the dealer tells me I need new pad and rotors. Take it to brake shop and they tell me all I need is pad. Brakes working fine right now but still squeak every now and then. They have replaced electrical harnesses that may catch on fire. The squeaking noise now has turned into other parts that are having to be replaced. My computer chip has been reset 4 times and cheap plastic mirrors on visors and sunglass holder and light on inside roof. The springs on my back doors have popped out leaving the door stuck open. Went to eat with 23000 miles on the car and after leaving the car would not start. Called dealer and they called a tow truck and wanted me to pay for that also. My car has been in two different dealerships on 10-15 different occasions for repairs. They still have not got these issues fixed. What can I do?

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitor valve had fractured on each tire except the front passenger side tire. After the first failure, the dealer repaired the vehicle. After the second failure, the contact called the manufacturer who stated that the parts for repair were on national backorder. The vehicle was eventually replaced. The vehicle had not yet been repaired after the third failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000 and the current mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 02/09/11 upadted 03/03/11

2009 Dodge Journey tires and tire censors boise, id larry miller Dodge. Have had issues with tires air pressure and censor every month since buying 2009 Dodge Journey in 2008. I have only taken my Journey to the dealer ship for all repairs on my Journey every time I take my vehicle I tell them I am still having the same issue with my tires. They deflate often and the censor turns on after I leave anywhere between 48hrs up to 2 weeks. Like I said this has been a consistent issue since I drove my car off the lot in 2008 and still hasn't been resolved and now they are telling me I should just buy new tires. I understand that it is almost time for new tires but I feel that censor and deflation in my tires should have been resolved a long time ago. Because of this issue I have spent many hrs in the repair waiting for them to try to figure out the issue 3-5 hrs each time.because they haven't been able to resolve I will never buy a Dodge vehicle again. Dodge has given me a very bad experience with my first car. I wish that I had went with the original vehicle that I wanted to purchase a Subaru outback.
