Read about all the problems with TIPMs so I tried replacing with a used/rebuilt TIPM. 1st attempt solved the horn issue but had no rear air conditioning. That is a problem in central GA. I sent that back. The next 2 replacement TIPMS did not work at all. The key got stuck in the ignition. I had to reinstall the original TIPM. I ended up taking the horn fuses out. Not great, but I can still drive.

I've never had an issue with my journey like this before. But as I left work yesterday, my horn started going off by itself. This wasn't one long beep, but more like someone really angry at someone and trying to make them move. It was a continuous honk, honk, hooooonnnkkk.... honk.. honk honk honk.... hoooonnnkkkkk... some honks were longer than others. I was getting evil looks, the bird, and cussing from many cars around me while sitting at a red light. One lady almost got out of her car to find out what my issue was with her. I thought I was going to get shot, I had made so many people angry with this honking!! I finally pulled over and yanked the fuses out of the fuse box.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but it's definitely annoying. And it needs to be fixed. Seems like a lot of people have this issue, and most are saying the dealership just robs you for fixes they "don't guarantee" will work and some even claim they "don't know about" this even happening, even though they do. Shame on you Dodge! This is stealing from people who buy your sh*tty cars. You shouldn't be taking MORE advantage of them for your crappy quality of workmanship.

This will be my last Dodge.

Update from Dec 29, 2016: Never got this problem fixed. However, a deer jumped into my engine and now I have a brand new Ford F150 truck.. screw Dodge. They don't own up to their poor workmanship. They don't fix their issues, which Obviously they have. Don't need a crappy car that doesn't even hold it's value when I drive a 100 miles a day... without a horn. Love my new truck with it's very loud obnoxious horn! :)

The horn will randomly start honking regardless if it's being driven; sitting still; key in the ignition; key out of the ignition. This is unsafe as I have had to take the fuses out in order for it to stop.

The honking is very random - it could be random honks to loud continuous honking. It has happened driving down the road; sitting in the parking lot; sitting in the driveway in the middle of the night; randomly throughout the day.

Driving down the road - it starts honking alerting the drivers around me - unsafe! Sitting in the driveway - UNSAFE for me due to annoying my neighbors and the HOA Taking the fuses out and driving with NO HORN - very unsafe

I have taken the car to the dealership and they have looked at the car - their comments are: "we would like to start by replacing the horn switch but there are no guarantees this will fix it"

Well ---- I can google on the internet that this ISNT going to fix it so why take my money for this part??

This is a known issue - why hasn't there been a recall?

Horn randomly goes off. Very dangerous situation. Have been almost injured due to someone trying to run me off road cause they think I am doing it on purpose. Have been flipped off as well. Very concerned about it going off while sitting behind someone (especially a police officer ) and that car go when they shouldn't have. Very embarrassing when you are at a doctor's appointment or meeting and it goes off. People come out of and look around to see what is happening.

Went to local dealership and they claim to know nothing about this ever happening. Tried to explain situation and that info was online. Was told "that's the problem. I'm looking at Internet and anything on there " got a quote on a replacement TIPM. It is going to cost me over $1000 to fix. Chrysler needs to be responsible.

The horn started to beep at 12:30 AM while the car was parked in my attached and secured garage, and the car security alarm was not activated. It stopped before I got to the garage. Since then, it has happened about 10 times, the latest being last night when in went on for about 5 minutes. It happens most often when the car is parked, but it has happened twice while I was driving it. In all instances, the volume, length of each beep, and spacing between beeps is very random.

I have taken out both fuses to prevent this from happening again. With the fuses removed, the remote lock and unlock both work, but the horn does not sound (obviously) on the lock signal. Since I very seldom use the horn, I am going to leave the fuses out for now.

I am planning on getting some electrical twin lead wire and a single throw double pole switch, which I will install under the dashboard, near the steering column. I will cut the hot wire going to each horn, attach one end of each lead wire pair to one of the cut ends of the horn wire, and attach the other ends to the terminals of the toggle switch. That way, I can turn the horn off when I leave the car, and turn it back on when I am driving.

If you can give me some info on how to get to the class action suit being set up against Chrysler Corp, I would appreciate that.

After Dodge dealer told me he did not hear about randomly honking horn before, that's was a trustloss. That problem is all over the web. As I changed at AutoZone my second keyfob battery, I ask them what can cost the randomly honking. He said a bad battery can do this. That was the third same opinion including my husband. At AutoZone they tested my car battery and result was bad battery. Never had problems with starting car. Since I changed battery, btw it's on strange place needed to get him in my personal garage, it stopped honking!!!!!!!

My horn will intermittently go off. Right now it does not have the fuses in it but this can be very dangerous. I have had a couple close calls and cannot use my horn for warning. I have had it in shop for a week and because it didn't go off while there they said they couldn't do nothing about it. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle since I got it, so needless to say I will not be buying a Dodge again and as soon as I am able to I will be trading it off!!

This was my solution to pull amps. Very annoying and no return call from dealership. It was at 4:35pm on fri. so really did not expect call back till later date. As a female I did what I could, that was my first thought. I thought after car was off it was done. To my surprise!!!! it happened two hours after home and shut off. Car still starts so there you go> No horn no worries!!!!!!!!!! Looked up problems found it's happened over and over. don't have time or energy to unhook battery every time so hoping the amps work. Has anyone else tried this?????? Please don't tell me I'm a stupid female!!!! I did what I thought would work.

On Tuesday I drove to work and all was fine, returned to the car after work and tried to start it using the keyfob and all hell broke loose. The horn started going off, first one honk, then another and finally it just went all out. The noise in the parking garage was deafening and people were glaring at me as if I was doing it on purpose. At first I could not make it stop but it stopped when I put the keyfob in the ignition. Got home and took my work things in the house when the darn thing started going again. My neighbors came out running thinking something was happening to me... The horn would eventually quit when I pushed the unlock button on the keyfob just to start all over again. The only way to stop the horn from making all the racket is by disconnecting the battery but this is a $30,000.00 dollar car (which I haven't even paid off yet) and it should be better than this. I have to go keep a wrench in my car just to connect and disconnect the battery... I cant believe this! I never, ever bought an American car before... I did this time because I was trying to help with the economy and thought buying American was a way to do it. Never thought that the companies would be using substandard parts and this stuff would be happening... Shame on you, Chrysler/Dodge!!! In searching the internet I see that there are LOTS of people suffering by being ignored by dealerships and many who have spent lots of money getting a fix that fixed nothing.

Have been having similar issues on our 2010 Dodge Journey which we purchased Nov. 2013 , main one being the alarm and horn go off randomly, driving down the street, middle of the night.....etc. Had the TPIM replaced 4 weeks ago which took 2 weeks to diagnose and get the part, this past Sunday alarm goes off and won't stop, so in looking for the fuses to remove and stop the alarm I found them in the TPIM, basically it is a fuse box that controls the whole electrical system. So back to the dealer again today, again replaced the TPIM. One block from home and horn starts going off again. Chrysler is aware that this is a problem on several Chrysler vehicles mainly ones purchased in 4 states. I even found a site for a class action suit. Fortunately we purchased the extended warranty and have only paid a small deductible other than the time and frustration. So back to the dealer tomorrow. I am seriously concerned because it is a safety issue as it can effect airbags, lights, windows and a whole lot more. Good luck! We were told today that one customer had 3 different TPIM's replaced so far. They are not new, cannot get a new one only refurbished!!!!
