Headlights stopped working on and off while driving. Had to replace $1000 electrical panel. Airbag light will not go off. Ignition switch, acceleration switch, brake switch, and cruise control switch all needing replaced after this was done. Egr valve problems. My car jumps, acceleration problems while driving, brakes less sensitive and having to stop from a distance, cruise control works then stops working while driving. Window switch, motor and wiring replaced on drivers side and works sometimes but mostly doesn't work.

I was driving down the highway and my car stalled completely. I had to coast to the side of the highway and try to restart my car. Also, have issues with battery being drained of all power, had to replace battery. My horn randomly beeps whether driving or not. Alarm system will sound all hours of night, had to pull fuse. Since then the hazard lights randomly blink off and on. The day after the engine stalled on me, now have a check engine light on and code is throwing out its the erg valve system and gasket... these are big issues and need to be repaired. I'm not happy with these issues and Dodge needs to do something about it.

Started with random horn blowing. I had to take fuses out of tipm to stop this. About 1 year later the battery died. Rwould not take a jump. Had car towed to a garage and eplaced the battery, it was dead again 3 weeks later. It would not take a jump. Had car towed to a different garage, they said I needed a new battery. The garage managed to jump start the car and I drove it home with many dash lights blinking and the power/engine limping along. This is apparently a widespread problem with the tipm. This should be a recall.

I bought my 2010 Dodge Journey used. Shortly after buying it I noticed the horn and alarm system would randomly go off on its own while driving down the road, stationary at a stop or while the car was parked and turned off. I, unfortunately, had to eliminate this problem by taking out the fuses for my horm and alarm system. This has caused some safety issues. I have also had another electrical issue that has cost me over a thousand dollars to try to figure out. My car battery would drain overnight. At first I thought it was a bad battery because it was about 2 years after I got my car. I replaced the battery and that helped for about 2 weeks. Then the battery started draining again and had to be jump started every day. I had it hooked up to a diagnostic machine where it was found that my alternator needed changed. Went ahead and did that and still had to jump my car every day. I did this for about 2 months straight not being able to figure out what was wrong. Finally did a little more research and found it could be the fuse box module. Bought one of those and put it in. Also had to buy a new battery due to having to jump start it over and over for 2 months. Costing around $900 for the both. This fixed the problem for a few months but then the battery started draining again. This time I took it to a mechanic. They ran tests and had my car for 4 days. They couldn't figure out for sure what was wrong but thought maybe it was in my instrument cluster. Would cost $600 for the part and $200 for installation. I decided to just pull my main electrical fuse everyday instead and continue on with my crap car. Come to find out 5 months later my friend did some research and found some other people having the exact same problem and it was the radio draining the battery. Sure enough we unhooked my radio completely and I haven't had an issue since!!

For a a few years now I have dealing with horn honking on its own. In the middle of the night, while driving, while parked randomly. I've been trying to solve the issue and nothing works. I read lots of complaint with the same issue on dodgeforum.com but again no solution. On 2/17/20 I nearly had a bad accident because I dont have a horn, I've been taking out the fuse because of the random honking while driving. This has happened to me more than once almost getting into accidents because if horn issue. I commute 2 hours a day for work sometimes more and do not feel safe using car but have no choice. For so many years no solution to problem by Dodge.

When turning one day my horn honked by itself. I thought my hand slipped and accidentally honked the horn then a few days later while driving straight I heard it again. It honked twice by itself, causing the person in front of me to slam on their brakes and almost caused a crash. That same day I heard it while the vehicle was off. I was I side and my horn honked at least 15 times by itself. I knew it wasn't my keys because my key fob had been disconnected from my car.

My wife was driving the car and it shut off while driving. The engine and electric system shut off and she could not use the brakes. She had to coast to a parking lot and then it started up again. We have taken it into a mechanic and there is no information on the computer regarding what happened. He cannot diagnose the problem.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the driver airbag light came on, it would then shut off and then ding and turn back on, it did this for several miles before it just stayed on. Another incident that has happened several times is that all the dash indicator lights come on while I'm driving, it puts my car in limp mode, I then have to pull over, shut the car off and then restart it for it to be ok again. This is a real safety concern as well, I could crash and get in a serious accident and I typically have my young kids with me. I searched my VIN to see if the recalls have been done and from what I can see they have, so I don't know if this is a reoccurring electrical issue or if this is something new.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the horn independently actuated without warning. The horn eventually ceased to blow. The failure recurred intermittently. The horn was disconnected for several months however, when it was reconnected the failure returned. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Horn blew intermittently at first when shutting doors, and occasionally for no reason. Windows would go down part way when doors were shut. Ignition would sometimes just click click when key is turned, wipers would move when not engaged to be on. Battery would go complexly dead for no reason and then be ok for a month or two and then do it again. Had to disconnect the horn a few years ago as it would not stop going off. Has been in to kayer Chrysler, Dodge service several times and they could not find issue. They just called and said they founsd. Short in the main electrical component and it will cost $1100plus for part and up to $200 to install. We have had these issues since we bought it. Oh yeh heat and air on passenger side quit working a few winters ago, and the doors fill with water in every rain storm. Park on a hill after a rain and doors will drain for hours. We have friends that have bought Journeys and say they have no problems really. Can't believe there S not a recall for such a mess. Oh yes and occasionally it will not shift all gears and I need to pull ver on highway, turn off ignition and restart and it usually works. Wish I weren't retired on limited income, I would get rid of it before I get killed. Iyt only has 1000,000 miles. Hopefully it matures soon,1

First major problem is car starts when it feels like it, had to replace starter ($520) in the first week that I owned the vehicle after getting a jump several times I purchased I jump kit ($125)in case it wouldnt start and there were no other cars around then the jump kit wouldnt even work. So I had to have the car towed ($130) and the starter replaced. If I shut the car off and try to start it again 10 mins later it wont start but if you wait about an hour, it will start. This still happens after having the starter replaced so I have to keep the car running or risk being stranded for an hour or so. Second problem, about a month after buying the vehicle I was on the highway and was using the cruise control, was going down a hill and the rpms went all the way up into the red and high as it could then went down to zero and the engine completly stalled while on the highway. Since then I haven't used the cruise control. Thirdly, the passanger side has zero heat. The defroster, the heat vents on the dash and the heat vents at the feet all blow out cold air. Fourth problem, the horn would honk randomly, while driving or parked. 5th problem the key fob does what it wants when it wants. Came out of the mall and my alarm was going off (just the lights I had to remove the horn fuses because of the honking issue) and could not turn the alarm off or unlock the doors with the fob, had to use the actual key from inside the fob to get in the car and then start it, shut if off then I was able to shut off the alarm. 6th problem the car will randomly unlock when I'm not even holding the key fob and the front windows will roll down half way. This car has been nothing but issues since I bought it Dodge needs to have a recall for this vehicle there are so many safety issues! bought this car because I wanted a safe vehicle for my family and this car had been anything but!
