Yesterday, while waiting at a stop sign my 2012 Journey shut off. I had no idea it had even shut off! I pressed the gas to go and the car wouldn't move. I was a little baffled because the radio was still playing. I put the car in park and pressed the ignition and the car started again. This is latest and most unsafe issue that I have experienced with this car. The radio randomly changes stations and it doesn't shut off when the car is shut off. I have to turn the radio off before I turn the car off because it will continue to play. This started about 8 months ago. The car was turned off and the drivers door was opened, but the radio kept playing. If I forget to turn it off before the ignition, I have to restart the car and let the radio play for a min or so before I can turn it off. Also, the rear air suddenly comes on. When I turn it off it comes back on. If it's synced with the front air, it will randomly go to the high setting. The Journey also does a jerking motion while driving. This happens on the highway or neighborhood roads too. We thought that maybe it was the transmission, but we had it checked and it's fine! after yesterday's sudden shutoff, I'm wondering if all that jerking was a sign of what was to come. The brake light has been coming on for a few weeks as well. I could be driving on a city street or highway and the break light comes on. It usually happens while driving straight, acceleration or driving at a constant speed. It happens so frequently that my kids are like, here we go again because we, our bodies, start jerking with the car. We bought this car brand new at the end of 2011. I loved it at first, but now I'm afraid to put my kids in it something needs to be done. There are issues with diff. Model years, so if the problems are being fixed on some, it should be fixed on all. After all, the company made $ on all of them & our lives are valuable

All these vehicles have serious brake problems, they have to be replace very often if not you end up in an accident, I have been very close, it's the complete breaking system that's bad, just check the service records for these vehicles I am sure there have been many accidents related to brake issues.

Driving on highway had to pull over. Put hazard lights on grass was wet. When done we got stuck so I out the ABS button on and the traction and ABS lights stayed on the dash for 20 miles, then they turned off for a brief moment and they've been on ever since. Computer module at our local store is not giving a problem when plugged into the fuse box with their handheld computer.

Brake pedal goes completely to the floor when braking. Happens intermittently, brakes work perfectly fine for 2 to 3 weeks then occurs again. Has happened 4 times. Completely replaced brake fluid, checked brake pump and brake line for leaks, no leakage visible. Can it be brake module or ABS module that is defective? vehicle was in motion everytime situation occurred on the highway.

Hi my name is [xxx]. I'm writing this complaint on the basis of my 2012 Dodge Journey. I have had my 2012 Dodge Journey for 2 years and 3 months, and I have had to replace front brake pads and resurface rotors 3 times in 2 years. I've also had to replace rear brake pads and resurface rotors twice on the back 1 recently being 3 days ago and now I took it somewhere else because of noise in the front brakes and rotors and they said I need front calibers on both sides and brake hose on both sides, and a break fluid flush and need more brakes because they locked up at that place today also. I haven't even paid car payment this month and I've already paid 300 dollars for brake caliber on the truck and place I went to get a 2nd opion and they said I need $652.85 dollars to get my front done and this is 2 days later after I got my back done. I have spent at least 3,000 dollars on this on going problems in the past 2 years. My 2012 Dodge sucks and I need help. I'm getting me a lawyer and im filing all kind of complaints about this current problem that I dont have money to keep getting fixed. Also once my brakes locked up on the truck once at the dealership which was July 11, 2018 that cost 300 dollars. I live 30 minutes away from the dealership, I take I95 to and from the dealership, they were about to let me drive my truck back home but the brake had locked before they can give it back to me. Question what if I would've got in my truck and drove back home on I95 and my brake would have locked up"?" thanks information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Faulty ABS module due to water leak, recalled on very many 2012 Dodge Journeys. For some reason, not recalled on mine. Noticed brake light, ABS light, and traction light came on, I had a diagnostic done by my own mechanic and confirmed over the phone with the Dodge dealership that I was covered under the recall. After dropping my car off and the mechanics there not fixing the issue, I was told that my VIN actually was not covered under that recall. So my ABS module is faulty for no obvious or apparent reason. I rarely drive on highways, I never got into any accidents, the 3 notification lights as noted above just came on one day when I turned the car on.

They're are recalls for all the issues I'm having with my vehicle but when I put the VIN in it doesn't fall under the recall list. I don't see how they can choose what cars to fix if the same problems and parts are on all them. So I guess Dodge is definitely not the vehicle to buy since they don't stand behind they're work. I was driving and the ABS light and traction control light came on and cruise control stopped working. And from what I've been told it's the brake sensor and that's one of the recalls my vehicle VIN doesn't fall under.
