The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Magnum. While driving approximately 25 mph and attempting to brake, the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floor and failed to stop the vehicle. The contact placed the vehicle into park and it came to a stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on one other occasion while driving approximately 25 mph and the steering wheel dropped down and seized. The contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a lot and not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 154,000.

Had filled up gas tank, upon pulling out experienced engine hesitation and lack of power. A few minutes later while passing though a major intersection with 3 children in car, vehicle stalled, causing loss of power steering and of course any means of propulsion. The vehicle started again but stalled three more times before returning home. This is an extremely hazardous situation which can endanger lives in a high speed and high traffic situation.

After filling my car and driving on the 710 freeway, while getting on the freeway the car just stalled. The steering got hard to turn as the vehicle was stalled. I managed to cruise to the side of the road and got the vehicle to start again. While driving it did it 2 more times until my gas started to go down. This happens almost every time I fill up the vehicle.

Time: After a fuel refill earlier in the day (always ask gas station attendant to -not- top off the tank and usually provide an exact number of gallons to make sure the gauge will read just under full after the gas refill) event: Car stalled while being driven at about 25mph this is a safety issue as the car will stall at just about anytime (on the highway, making a turn, driving along Suburban roads). At this time the only solution I have been able to implement is to rev the engine significantly fast after the refuel and/or drive in 1st or 2nd gear (by downshifting via the transmission gear shifter) for at least 10minutes of driving time. It has now been 6 months since the last activity on the current NHTSA PE13-016 investigation (last activity referred to on the website was August of 2013). This is a safety issue and a recall is clearly needed to address this safety issue. Can someone at NHTSA please post an update on the investigation?

I started having problems with my 2006 Magnum srt8 this past winter. With absolutely no warning while driving approximately 10 mph in drive, the engine cutoff and lost all power completely. I also lost all power steering and power brakes. Thank goodness I was on a back road. All of the warning lights flashed on and off and then the check engine light came on. I had to put the car back in park, completely turn off the ignition and restart the car. It restarted without any problems. I drove a few more miles and the exact same thing happened. Again, lucky I was on a back road!! I made it home and it stalled a 3rd time just as I pulled it into the garage. Again, completely random while driving!!!! I took it to my local dealership who could not re-create the problem. I paid for the 60,000 mile service and did not have issues again until this past weekend when the same issue occurred 5 times in 2 days. Again, completely random while driving!!. dangerous. These particular times occurred after filling the gas tank. I have read multiple similar complaints. Something needs to be done before someone gets killed on the road. I will be taking my car into the dealership once again for diagnostics. I am an anesthesiologist and it doesn't take to one to realize that this is a serious safety issue that needs complete attention and a complete investigation. I love my car but I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Dodge and NHTSA, you cannot ignore this. Please feel free to contact me as I will be contacting you.

I have never received any recall for Chrysler for the Dodge Magnum 2006 since I had it for 6 yrs+exited the freeway, and made turn to head towards my designated location. As soon as I cross over the first light ( going the speed limit) my vehicle lost control and accelerated more speed without me able to control the steering wheel causing the car to jerk all over the street. (unable to control steering and brake). Lost control went off the road instantly hit a tree and spun several times until I hit another tree, and that is what made the vehicle crash and come to a stop.

I am the second owner of this vehicle purchased in 2007. At 60,000 I had the rack in pinion replaced at about 1000 dollars, next was the cooling fan at 75,000 miles (cost $700 dollars). Then at about 90,000miles the water pump, thermostat, tension pulley and timing belt had to be changed for a grand total of 1300 hundred. I am now at 100,000 miles. I have had suspension issues since about 40,000 miles have maintained oil changes and maintenance. This seems unfair!

Please put your self in our shoe`S this has got to be dealt with or someone is going to get killed in a crash. Please don't let Dodge skate on this one can we not get a class action lawsuit going? I hope I don`T crash and kill somebody`S child or loved one. 1. dangerous! entire car shakes when traveling at 40-80+ mph. The shake shows up in the steering wheel which makes the car unsafe to handle at speeds of 65mph. This shake is not present when braking, only under acceleration and usually only when you go over 40mph. The problem has gotten so bad that it actually hurts my ears do to the "pulsing and pounding air pressure when only one window, any window is open. It is deafening!!. the wheels were balanced on 4 separate occasions and that didn't nothing but waist my time and money. 2. car nearly stalls out when shifting between first and second gear on wide open throttle. (can be dangerous if you expect the car to go and it stutters. Almost appears as if it is going to stall, like it's starved for gas). And if all that is not enough, the rack and pinion need replacing, after only 53 thousand miles!!!"?" it should last at least 150,000 miles I only drive about 10,000 miles a year! and on very smooth roads. Now I am out of money and attempting to make ends meet on $995 dollars a month. Don`T I / we have government backed consumer rights when these problems are so obvious and blatantly being ignored. Dodge should by now, know what these problems are, and if not, they should feel obligated to at least find the cause of them. After all I purchased a Dodge to help support an american icon just to find out that they actually treat us worse than Toyota treats there customers. I mean at least they are fixing and admitting there mistakes. I just hope myself or anyone else get hurt or killed do to there ignorance before they finally bend over, grab there ears and pull there heads out of there.........!

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Magnum. While driving between 40-50 mph, the vehicle vibrates violently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer six times. They were able to duplicate the failure, but were unsure of what caused the vibration. The dealer rotated the tires, but this did not correct the failure. He purchased an extended warranty just in case. The failure mileage was 3,000 and current mileage was 11,000.

1. dangerous! entire car shakes when traveling at 40-80+ mph. The shake shows up in the steering wheel which makes the car unsafe to handle at speeds of 65mph. It is similar to the shake when you brake and the rotors are warped only this shake is not present when braking, only under acceleration and usually only when you go over 40mph. It gets so bad that people in the car always ask what is wrong with my car, especially since I have only had it 11 months. The problem is getting progressively worse. The tie rods were replaced as an attempt to fix the problem. Didn't work. The wheels were balanced on 3 separate occasions and that didn't work either. The rims from another srt8 Magnum were put on my car to see if the rims were the problem and the car still shook. (4 repair attempts, not yet fixed) 2. brake rotors (all 4) worn out at 17,000 miles (dealer will replace for free after a fight with the dealership) 3. brake pads (all 4) worn out at 17,000 miles (dealer will not replace for free, want $600 for pads, not fair since the defective rotors might have played a part in wearing out my brake pads too) 4. car nearly stalls out when shifting between first and second gear on wide open throttle. (can be dangerous if you expect the car to go and it stutters. Almost appears as if it is going to stall, like it's starved for gas).

The tires on my 2006 Dodge magunum rt may be suspect. However, when the car was given a four wheel alignment at about 6000 miles, it was found to need major adjustment at all four wheels. This car had not hit anything to knock the wheels out of alignment so I have to assume that the car was poorly assembled. I now have about 21000 miles on the car and I still feel that the car has very unpredictable steering. I hope that the cause is tires which I can replace (much too early). But I fear that there may be a steering rack problem.

- the contact stated that while driving his 2006 Dodge Magnum if the vehicle goes over 30 mph the vehicle pulls to the right excessively. The contact has taken the vehicle to the dealership(lums auto center) ten times and they have attempted to re-align the vehicles front end, as well as, changing the vehicles tires. The contact stated that the service manager contacted the manufactured on 01/03/07 told the manufacturer that were not able to repair the vehicle and they needed guidance. The manufacturer stated that they will get back to dealership once they researched the issue ( case reference number 15849994). The contact can provide copies of all his invoice repaired if needed.
