Neon

  • Automatic transmission
  • 166,000 miles

So when I pull into a parking spot and just coast in without hitting the gas my car stalls and the wheel lock up. This happens a lot of times also when I turn the wheel all the way. It's becoming a big pain and I have no clue what it is. Can you please help me with your input?

Neon 2 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 112,000 miles

When I got the neon in September it ran like a jewel. But then after a while of driving it, it would start to stall on me when I was driving down the highway, pulling in to a parking space, stopping at a stop sign, and pulling into my driveway.
Then when winter came, we had to start charging the battery EVERY FRICKEN MORNING!.... so my dad went and got me a new battery, THEN it still would only start when it wanted it to, and still stalling. So then my boyfriend went and bought a new starter and alternator for my car. He just put the alternator in the other day, and just this morning it stalled driving to work AT AN INTERSECTION!!... but now, a family friend who owns a car shop, tested it and said that something somewhere is draining 12Volts of my battery. and he can't find it anywhere!...

neons are good cars.... WHEN THEY RUN!!... other than that I think this car make is a piece of crap!

This car is a pain in my ass, when it decides it wants to start, between the excessive black smoke, to the bouncing, to the stalling, stopping shutting off and not starting. how about the cost and hassle of having in the garage every 2 weeks, new alternator, starting motor, wires, gasket heads, terminals, battery, etc. We are at our wits end with this car.. anyone figure out what is going on with them???

Neon Highline

it conks out on me while i'm going through an area with slow traffic (less than 15 mph). it also tries to turn when i start it and i have to pump the gas to get it to start. my mechanic has had it multiple times over the past year and he can't find anything wrong. the scariest moment was when it stalled out on me as i was approaching the delaware memorial bridge in heavy traffic. lucky, i was able to pull over onto the service road as it was bouncing before it stalled. it took me 15 minutes to get it started after that. that was truly one of the scariest moments of my life and i've had this car for 6 years.
