The steering stopped responding when I was on a highway ramp leaving me helpless in a fast moving vehicle with cars all around me. I slammed on the brakes sending my car swerving until it smashed head on against the guard rail. Fortunately, I walked out with no injuries, but this could easily have been fatal.
