Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2004 Dodge Neon Owner Comments

problem #1

Nov 022008

  • 86,000 miles

I was driving my 2004 Dodge Neon srt4 on the evening of November 2nd 2008 when my headlights failed. They were cutting off and on. I drove the vehicle home in the dark since I don't have the money for a tow. I checked on for an explanation of the issue and was directed to a posting about the wiring harness burning up inside the steering column. Sure enough my harness and connector is fried. This could have led to a fire and will be a costly repair. This problem has occurred in many other peoples vehicles. This should be a recall since it is due to a manufacturer defect. Not to mention I could have crashed since it was dark.
