Just got my 05 dodge neon today and drove it home. On my way back to the house while on the interstate, it wouldn't switch in 3rd or 4th gear and its an automatic trans, but wouldn't change. I'm guessing it wouldn't go in to 3rd gear but I'm not completely sure it may have been in 3rd. I know for a fact it wont switch into 4th at all.

The guy I bought the car from said it was an electric sensor according to a scan code. Also while driving on the interstate the gauges were going crazy. The rpms were at about 5 and a half and if I'd let off the gas the speed gauge would say different speed and sorta float around.

Not sure what's going on with it, so any information on these issues would be greatly appreciated... Just happy that once I fix it I'll have a more dependable vehicle that looks and runs a hell of a lot better then my 91 Nissan Sentra. I mean just so I can drive it, I have to pop the hood and turn the switch on the battery on, because we had to straight wire my cooling. Also the drivers side headlight used to cut on all by its self ... but the Nissan does get close to 40 mpg, so cant complain to much lol,,,,,,

I purchased this car brand new in September 2005 at around 50,000 miles the engine light came on and wouldn't go off after about a week I took the car back to the dealer and provided them with the code ( I can't remember it now) they couldn't find anything wrong and the light went off and I didn't think anything more about it. About a year after that the light started coming on again with code p0340 camshaft sensor & P0335 crankshaft sensor my brother replaced both and now 6 months later the car is acting up again and this time driving to work the car completely shut down I was able to coast to the side of the road and shut the car off and waited a few minutes after the third attempt it started and the light remains on.

I purchased my Neon in November of 2005 with only 50 miles on it. The first couple of months it stayed in the shop. They did not know what was wrong. They changed the thermostat twice at that time. I think they ended up changing it an additional time. They would correspond with Chrysler the month they kept my car trying to figure out what was wrong with my car and another ladies car, which was identical to mine. They made me pay that months car payment, although for the majority of the month they had the car. The 2005 5 speed Neon was a lemon and they know it. I have contacted Chrysler on several occassions. No one wants to hear my complaint. I tried to trade in the car but I will only receive 6,000 dollars when I owe 11,000 because they are no longer making the Neon. I used to love Chrysler and now I hate it. Good luck to you all in getting your problems resolved. All they want is money, they could careless about you or anyone else.
