About two years ago (unsure of date or mileage...however, my mileage now is 54K), when I started my car in the morning, I was hearing a ticking/knocking noise coming from my hood. I know it was around winter time, so I figured it was just cold. Then a year and a half goes by, and it's doing it in the spring, summer, fall....doesn't matter. It's gotten louder, so I finally took it into the dealership. I had them take it overnight so they would hear the noise first thing in the morning. They didn't hear it! (so they say) They said they did a diagnostic test and all of my motor mounts need to be replaced (not covered under the warranty). The findings were going to be sent into Chrysler for their records so if it doesn't get fixed and it does end up causing actual engine problems, that won't be covered either. I decided to get a second opinion and I was told that my motor mounts are fine and it's an internal engine noise. Is this noise normal or is there something that really does need fixed?
